I have an old friend that I really don't want to see. Every time I see her she makes me feel small, insignificant, and what i'm doing is unimportant. Basically, she makes me feel like i'm not good enough. I don't want to give her the satisfaction of not showing up to the reunion (when I have so many others that I truly WANT to see), but how can i get the knots out of my stomach and show her I'm good enough, ....(smart enough....you know the rest)?

Why does this woman mean so much to you that you care about her opinion, after 10 years? How does your life pale compared to hers? Is she really all that? Or could it be that she has to make you feel insignificant to make herself feel important? The 10 year reunion is a biggie! Everyone trying to live up to the "potential" they had in high school. I just celebrated with my mates our 30th, we all laughed at how we acted at our 10th. We're all so much more mellow now. You go in there cookie with your head up and your **** to the wind...and don't let snaggle puss tie you up. Whether it's the truth or not, tell her your life is EXACTLY where you want it to be at this time, then just walk off and enjoy the other people you want to be around. I think you are worrying for no reason, even though I have been there and know what your'e feeling. It's going to be a blast! Go. Have Fun. Lie if you have to. Just don't let her get to you. Good luck. Nana

Don't worry about her. Instead, enjoy your reunion by seeing the people you want to see. I went to my reunion for the purpose of seeing 3 people that I lost contact with. None of them were there, but I ran into some others that I hadn't been close to before and had a great time! I stayed away from those people that I knew would try to put me down.

For your own good Girl, don't go! I don't think anyone needs the kind of pressure and scrutiny that those things bring up, who has done what with their lives, who is more successful etc. My personal view is that I didn't enjoy my school days and I especially didn't like who I was back then, so don't really want to relive it... if we had been true friends, we would have kept in touch.

Be yourself! Go to the reunion for yourself and no one else! First and foremost, you are alive to see your reunion...obviously you are doing something with your life! Be polite to even the this one person who has been rude to you...smile... that will really get to her..... and enjoy yourself! Do not fall into the trap of lingering towards negativity..... who knows.. it been 10 years...... she may have a big bald spot in the middle of her head! If the person says something mean to you..... simply walk away!

I didn't go to mine. What do you care what this person does? You're a grown-up. Just realize that you are you and you will never be her and she is not better and then she can't make you feel any such way. You should just look at her and form some judgement without being affected.

Go and have a wonderfull time. Just say hi to this women and pass on by her. Don't even bother and talk with her. Shes nothing to you. If she trys to engage you in a conversation. Just say oh theres so and so I must go say hi. And say nice seeing you again and walk off. don't worry about being rude to her. if she bothers you this much. For your own good you just have to not let her get to you.. go have agreat time.

She isn't your friend if that's how she makes you feel. And, it's been a while, why not just let go of the past and move on, and not care? because you let go, you'll see the other side of the rainbow-but otherwise you will relive the past, and to move forward you need to let it go, or give her piece of your mind, so this shenanigans will end.

Please go and have a good time. She can only make you feel small if you let her and if you let her, she wins. Go, put your best foot forward and stay surrounded by your good friends.
