The term Chicano comes from activists from the 1960's that were fighting for equal rights like the black activists in the south with Martin Luther king Jr. Hispanic comes from a racial census classification to Spanish speakers from the various nations in the Americas, and those that remained in the southwest, after the Mexican American war. Latino is a way to call people from the Americas, and Latin America is what is called, Mexico, Central America, South America. Many people who were teenagers and others in the 1960's see the term, Chicano, as a way to struggle for equal rights under the law.
Racism affected many people of color and Spanish speakers also suffered from segregation in the U.S. Many people from the 1960's are proud to call themselves, Chicano. They marched and protested for their rights as American citizens. They did it for all people of color and I am proud of the work the Chicanos did, to ensure my rights as an American with Mexican roots.

Chicano is a derogatory term indeed, and it is usually pointed to Mexicans/Central Americans that look mostly natives (too little of Hispanic in their linage).
Latin/Latinos are those who were born in Latin America (from Mexico to Argentina), including Brazil, where Portuguese is spoken.
Hispanic are either Spanish people living in Spain and all the other ones living in Latin America who have Spanish ancestors (about 70% of the Latin people).

Mexico is termed after the Amerindian tribe the Mexica or MECha. So shall we glance into this spelling and its origins. It comes from Nahuatl language. Now Xicano is likewise Chicano = MeXicano it fairly is actual interior the word Mexican or Mexicano so it potential Mexicans in basic terms it has extra community emphasis. the project with many ignorant Mexicans is they do no longer understand there own background distinctly in Mexico. Theyd do no longer understand that initially the MECha human beings Mexica human beings or Aztecs got here from the Southwest of what's now america which use to be a element of Mexic. Classical Nahuatl, the language of the Aztecs, and its modern kinfolk are element of the Uto-Aztecan kinfolk
