I see the word Sicilia in Italian maps, do u pronouce it

see-chee-lya or is it another way? please help

Yes, it's "See-chee-lya" with the accent on the 2nd syllable ("chee"). As far as I know (Italian is my native language), in Sicilian they say and pronounce it just the same. Sicilian dialect is different from standard Italian, but it's the words and the accent that are different.The pronunciation rules are the same.

Being sicilian I can say you that "Sicilia" is NOT pronounced in the same way in italian and in sicilian.

In standard italian it is pronounced "see-CHee-lee-ah"

In sicilian it is pronounced "see-SHee-lee-ah"

This also happens when we speak italian but we obviously have our distinctive accent...most people in central and southern italy pronounce the "c" between vowels like a "sh" sound, whereas in standard italian the correct pronunciation is "ch".
