Hypothetically...What if I really wanted to believe in God, but just...couldn't. Yes, I've tried church, I've read the Bible, I've borrowed a nice stack of Lewis and Yancey books. I want to love Jesus and all that jazz.
I think I'm an okay person. No criminal record. I'm a good friend. I volunteer with sincere interest in domestic violence shelters and child abuse prevention programs. I think I'm a pretty okay person, you know?
So what if I commited suicide? Would God really hate me? I'll be "sorry" for it...it's not anyone commits suicide for fun. So what if I said, "God, please forgive me. I don't know how to deal with myself. I don't know how to deal with the lonliness, and I feel worthless, but please forgive me. I love you, and I am so sorry for not trusting You...." And what if I really meant it? Will I still go to hell?
vs.
A serial killer who later repents for his sins?
Will I go to Hell while he goes to Heaven?
Serious answers only please.

So what if I repent before commiting suicide. Will I still go to Hell? What if I repent, and was serious about being sorry?

Sandi: Sin will take you further than you want to go. It will keep you longer than you want to stay and charge you more than you want to pay. Sin won't ask for too much in the beginning, but in the end, it will steal everything you've got. The word of God says that there is no one righteous, not even one. (rom 3:11) In other words your goodness and your good deeds are not good enough. The word of God says that no one come through the father except through jesus christ (john 14:6). He is the mediator between you and God.Commiting suicide is a sin(John8:44), Why would you want to end your life? When you trully love Jesus Christ everything becomes new in your life. Its says in the word of God when you believe, the truth SHALL set you free. (Jonh 8:32) The truth gives your freedom from every thought that attacks you and every desire from commiting suicide. There is no such thing as commiting suicide for fun. People who killed themselves, use that as a "scapegoat". Because they think that there is no hope. The last thing you lose is Hope. Jesus answered them, "it is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Luke 5:31-32. So if a serial killer repents in his dying bed, if he is doing it with a sincere heart then yes he will go to heaven. Because when you repent and ask Jesus to come into your heart, he washes away every inpurity and all of your sin away and cast it at the bottom of the ocean. Only when you do it with a sincere heart.
Remeber that Jesus paid a price for you and i. Because he loved us so much, before we even knew him. :)

This is a very serious answer. If you truely have faith in God then you would not commit the act therefore no reason to wonder whether you will go or if the serial killer will go. God doesn't hate anyone. He created everyone. Do you hate what you create. If you were to create a child, would you hate it? Regardless of how it turned out? I think not. God is our Father, why would he hate any of us. He doesn't like what we do. Not us but our actions. He would not like someone taking the life of themselves or the life of someone else. Can it be forgiven, yes. But how can you say that you are truely sorry and turn around and do it anyway. Isn't being sorry meaning I feel bad for what I did and I will try my hardest not to do it again. If you commit suicide there is no trying to not do it again. What's done is done. If a serial killer says I'm sorry, they have the chance to prove that they really are sorry by not doing it again. Someone who commits suicide can't do that because they are dead.

This is just my opinion but i have a hard time with believing that a just and loving God will forgive a monster but not someone in despair. That is not the God I serve, and I know Him well. To think He is less sympathetic than us; fallen man makes no sense whatsoever. God is a God of order, and love and miracles. All that is good in us is garbage compared to the goodness of God so there is no way in hell that an individual as evil as dahmer and bundy would go to heaven and a troubled teen who ends their life isn t. Not gonna happen. That s as bad as saying Grace is so we can get away with sin, rather than Grace is a Gift to keep us FROM sin. To think that The Heavenly Father would put His Son Jesus through such horrible tortue and death on The Cross so we can get away with being despicable and depraved individuals and still go to Heaven is obtuse, absurd, and downright madness.

Personally I think the suicide=hell thing is sick... People who would end their own lives are desperately sad people who should be cared for, not punished.
I have a loved one that ended his life, and if there is anything beyond this existence I trust that he is fine. If a heaven were real it would make me angry that a murderer would get priority over someone that was a good man.
There are people who would just openly tell someone such a loved one went to hell, which is so heartless yet they think they are such good people.

The serial Killer has a chance to ask God to forgive him if your dead you can not ask God anything. You can't say God forgive me im going to kill myself then do it cause you know its wrong to do it and then your dead no forgiveness. PLZ dont do it either cause that would be worse than death itself living in hell with out God.......... Good Luck

Only the pure and holy can enter Heaven and be with God. We human beings cannot make ourselves pure and holy no matter what we do and that's why we need a Saviour.
There are 2 kinds of people on the earth: people who love God and people who don't. Those who love God will be drawn to His Son Jesus Christ and accept him as their Lord and Saviour. Those who do not love God will not love His Son and accept Him.
1 John 2:23
Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
These who do not love God are not good people but His enemies (Romans 5:10) and He has already prepared a place for them (Hell). Many say they love God but they are liars. How can we prove they are liars? God sent His Son to die for us, but these reject Him (Jesus) and the truth about Him.
Almighty God was, is and will always be triune (one God in three persons, not three gods). God is comprised of the Father, the Son (Lord Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit. Each person of the Triune Godhead has a different role. There is only one God (Isaiah 43:10-11; 44:6,8; 45:21-22; 46:9; John 17:3; 1 John 5:20-21). The Father is God (1 Peter 1:2; Philippians 2:11), the Lord Jesus Christ is God (Matthew 1:23; John 1:1; 20:28; Hebrews 1:8; Hebrews 13:8; Revelation 1:7-8; 2 Peter 1:1; Titus 2:13) and the Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:3-4; Acts 28:25-27; 1 Corinthians 3:16-17; 2 Corinthians 3:17).
Without God, the spiritual part of the human being is dead (Ephesians 2:5, Colossians 2:13). The sin of our first parents (Adam and Eve) caused the separation between God and man. Romans 6:23 says the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Sin causes us to be separated from God which results in spiritual death. Christ, the 2nd Person of the Triune Godhead was made flesh (through the immaculate conception) and paid the price for our sins by dying on the cross so we could through faith in Christ as our Saviour be instantly redeemed and united to God and have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit who teaches us, comforts us and grants us fruits to live in righteousness and gifts to help and edify the Church. There is no redemption or unity to God apart from receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as one’s Saviour and Lord.
God created us out of love (Jeremiah 31:3). God loves us so much that Jesus the 2nd Person of the Triune Godhead was made flesh as the Son of God to pay for our sins so we could by faith in Jesus as our Saviour have a relationship with God and spend eternity with Him in His kingdom (John 3:16). Becoming flesh to suffer an agonizing death on a cross shows the extent of love God has for us, and He wants us to choose Him by accepting the atonement He made for our sins. The Lord Jesus is the only way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). Praise God for His great sacrifice!
After a believer dies, they go to Heaven to be with Christ (Luke 23:43). Heaven is much more amazing than any human here on earth can imagine. It is a place where human beings would feel perfect and everlasting love, joy, peace, comfort and happiness (John 14:2; 1 Corinthians 2:9; 2 Corinthians 12:1-4).
If a person dies without accepting Christ as their Lord and Saviour, they would not be forgiven by God. After death, these would go to Hades (Acts 2:31, Luke 10:15) and all those in Hades will be later thrown into the eternal lake of fire along with Satan, his hosts and all who refuse the true and only way of salvation offered in the Lord Jesus Christ. Burning in the everlasting lake of fire is known as the “second death” (Revelation 20:6, 13-15).
The truth about Jesus Christ can be found only in the word of God which is the Holy Bible. Three days after the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, He resurrected from the dead (Luke 24:1-8; Acts 10:40; 1 Corinthians 15:4) and 40 days later, He ascended into Heaven (Acts 1:3; Luke 24:50-53; Acts 1:9-11).
1 Timothy 3:16
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”
Jesus Christ is Lord over all:
Philippians 2:9-11
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
False doctrines claim that there are several paths to God. The word of God tells us that there is ONLY ONE WAY and that is through faith in Jesus Christ.
John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 3:36
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him
If you sincerely say this prayer, your sins will be washed away, you will be redeemed to God, be saved from eternal torment and inherit the Kingdom of God:
"Dear Jesus,
I am a sinner.
I repent of my sins.
Please forgive me and save me by your shed blood;
come into my heart.
I want to receive you as my own personal Lord and Savior.
Amen"
After sincerely saying this prayer, the Holy Spirit will abide within you and begin to lead you to all truth, empower and equip you and help you along life's journey. Keep your faith growing by reading and studying the word, remain in a humble spirit and always have Almighty God as first priority in your life.
As long as you have faith in the Lord Jesus as your Saviour you are saved. Through your faith in Christ as your Saviour the Holy Spirit will guide you in repenting of your sins and doing the will of God. If you lose this faith, you lose Salvation.
