I love my Sportage and I have driven the Rio.
Kia is a favorite car of mine, but I also love their sister cars Hyundai just as much.

While i like the price and styling of kia, i feel there downfall is there mechanical and electrical quality. I have drivin many only to find a severe lack of power. And i had a rental kia for 1 month ( after a car accident ) and i got stuck in the middle of the desert after the electrical in this brand new kia had failed to work properly. I had to physically tear the center console apart just to get the neutral safety switch on the automatic transmission to unlock, it would not swich from park to in gear without this swich working. And on my neighbors kia it constantly has electrical problems, the ecm always fries leaving her stranded.. The one i rented in new mexico had not had enough power to make it up the hill where i was. Not even a steep grade.

Getting a bad rap. We just bought a new car but were really thinking of the Kia after all. If you need a cheaper alternative and a good vehicle with lots of features, a Kia seems nice.

here is the best advice you will ever get about buying cars.
NEVER BUY A HYUNDAI OR A KIA!
they are the most poorly manufactured cars on the market. enough said.
also dont buy mitsubishi cars either. ive had a new 2006 eclipse come into the carwash where i work and it fell apart in there. im not even joking. its crap. build cheap and sold at a high price.

My mom has a kia sephia and she absolutely hates it. She is always having to take it into the dealer because the check engine light keeps coming on, and believe me she always takes it to get it maintained.

I like them.
Have had 4 of them since 1997 - "Pride",
"Sephia", "Clarus" and now drive a new "Rio".
They have never given me any problems which
is more I can say about my previous brands
like Nissan, Volvo and others.

I think they look too assembly line appearance and need to look less like recycled aluminum
