Absolutely! I've hardly seen anything other than arguments and hateful comments being slung at each other.

The section, by the very nature of it, 'incites hatred/violence', which is ironic because that would fall under one of the Q/A violations for posting.

Because religion is important to many people. Wars are fought over religion. And many people want to understand....what particular religions teach...how they differ....how they are the same... A lot of people realize that this life here on earth isn't all there is....and many of them don't really know why that's so....or what comes next.

Didn't mean to write so much, but those were all the things that popped into my mind when I read the question. You say that most people asking questions here are trying to anger other people. Your question will do that and probably many of the replies will, also.

If having a religion section bothers anyone, they should just avoid this category.

No dumber than having a science section!

Quck, explain to me WHERE all the MASS in the universe came from!

When and where is the big one going to hit!?

Who's ready to put big money on the weatherman's prediction for tommorrow afternoon, tonight!?

How many moons does Saturn have and if more are found you have pay me $100,000 for each new one added to that list!

Is Pluto a planet, come on scienctists, put up or shut up on that one!

Fred Hoyle is the must genius Astronomer in modern times, so why is his classic book on the Solar System TOTALLY obsolete and wrong today!?

Nothing in that book is correct by "today's" standards and it's only 60 or 65 years old!

If science is rock sold and everything has proofs, why are all these things more like sci-fi!

The science you read about today, will change the day after tommorrow, remember that when you help your kids with their homework least they tell the teacher Juper is 12 moons like it did from 1880 to 1980. And Saturn is the only ringed planet! That was Astronomy in 1970!

It might be a good idea to keep the religion section and add a No-Religion section. That way, people that don't have any real questions have somewhere to go and not have to ask anything that needs an answer.

Sure I still love them, they just need time. Like raw cookies, they just aren't ready! Give them a little more time, they will turn out great!

Some people just may find it! "Where there are a few gathered in My Name, there I am also". Alot of people have never been taught God's word and this is a good place to learn. If people would read with an open mind, they just might find something they've been missing and never knew it! I'm offended by pornography so I don't go to those sites. It's not about arguing, it's about learning.

Who said that Yahoo was designed to have people find religion in the religion board? The back and forth RAW UNBRIDLED HATRED is the point of the section, and hey, they succeeded.

I agree, people who subscribe to religion are inherently weak and have no business trying to match wits and facts with someone who lives in the real world. It could only lead to a one sided argument

Someone may say something that makes someone curious enough to dig a little into finding truthful answers. Saving one loss sheep is a good thing.

No more stupid than having any other topic. It is here for discussion like all the others. If you are not a religious person then don't go there.
