My kitten is sick, and is very skinny, and she won't eat..NOTHING! I can't afford a vet, what should I do?
I tried to feed her milk, but she won't drink. Any suggestions....please don't suggest a vet, I really have NO money to spend on one right now! :'-(

Thanks to all of the replies. To the ones suggesting I am not a good kitty mommy, and or shouldn't have her if I can't take care of her. I can't help it because my husband lost his job! I have other cats/kittens too, and they are ALL healthy and eat good. I have prayed for her and cried my eyes out. I didn't ask for my husband to lose his job, right now if I had to go to the Dr. it would have to be a free clinic!!!!!
Thanks to the nice comments. I think I will try some tuna. I know I have some of that in the kit.

oh...as for her age, she's about 12 weeks old, and mom has been onsite the whole time. Her siblings are all healthy and eat fine.

Just wanted to let you all know that I prayed for God to end the kitties suffering, and I went to check on her just now, and she's passed away. :'-( I am very sad, but God knew what was best, and she's no longer suffering. Thanks to you nice people who prayed and offered good advice.

Ask yourself how sick the kitten is and if it is suffering. I know the bill would suck, but what do you want-a vet bill or a dead kitten.
You may be poor (so am I) but there are ways to pay. It will be a while till you get the bill I believe. Payment plans, or a no interest credit card is a good option. Even borrow money from someone. They may not want to lend you money, but they may be willing to for a kitten.
If you can't afford a vet and wont even consider one then maybe spend your efforts finding a home for the sick kitten who WILL take it to a vet.
Also, try other things besides milk. Tuna juice, wet food etc.
***Also keep in mind any med advice you get here for your pet does NOT come from professionals***
If nothing else, DITCH it at the vet so it gets the help it needs and deserves.

OK if your kitten is sick it really does need a vet, they will make payment agreements with you, and help you fast. If you really must not go to a vet, like you have a VET PHOBIA... then go to the store and buy some Cat wormer that is specifically for cats, dog wormer will kill it, and depending on the age of the kitten for dosages. Be safe. DO NOT! I repeat DO NOT give a kitten cow's milk. It will give them diarrhea, and make it lose even more weight. If the kitten is not old enough to eat kitten chow then buy a kitten formula from the pet store. If it is not eating because it does not like the texture of the kitten food (hard) then buy a couple of cans of wet foot and mix a little of it in with the dry . Taper the wet food day after day, until only feeding dry food, and then stop the wet food. You need to do something fast though, kittens do not have enough fat stores to go without eating for very long, and will end up in a tragedy if not taken care of properly and FAST!!!

I know you said not to suggest a vet but there are vets in most cities that have low cost health care and could work out a plan. Many animal shelters also have in-house vets that would most likely be more than willing to help out your poor kitty. Call around and see if there is anything like that nearby. In the mean time go to the store and get a special kitten milk. Regular milk could actually upset her tummy making things worse. Also get an eye dropper and make sure you get water in her. If she is an outside cat bring her in.

This may depend on her age, and so on, what is her color like insie her mouth around her gum line if it is grey or blue it could mean she is having a problem with respitory and definitely needs vet help, try kitten replacement milk and a dropper, if she is too young to be away from mom this will help if she is not too sick, is she going in the litter box and if so is she urinating and or deficating? Does she have a fever or raised tempriture or low temp? How long has she been like this? There are so many things to look for, that could give clues to what is wrong. Also try to keep her warm but not too warm, keep liquids in her as best you can, even if you have to give her a few drops here and there, watch her close and keep her comfortable.

How old is she? You can try baby food, or try a cats milk from the pet store. Most vets will let you get on a payment plan. Part of being a responsible pet owner means that you will care for the pet and take them to the vet when needed. It sounds like your kitten should be seen by the vet.

First of all do not give her milk. If shes sick and can't eat then a vet is needed. if you can not afford a vet then call your local animal shelter and request help. They may make you turn the kitten over to them. But the alternative is the kitten will die if not treated.

DO NOT FEED MILK TO KITTENS - cats are lactose intollerant and should NEVER have milk
your kitten needs vet attention - really you cannot expect people on the internet to offer you a solution based on limited info and not being able to see the kitten
if you cannot afford a vet call your local shelter (SPCA) and see if they offer emergency funding... or give her to them to care for
honestly people shouldnt have pets if they cannot afford basic care (has she been dewormed/vaccinated???)
if you got this kitten for free then I can honestly say you got what you paid for.. NEVER accept free kittens, (likewise never buy from pet stores)
realize this : failure to get medical attention for a pet is a criminal act, you can be charged with neglect - please get her help or give her to somebody who will help her

This sounds serious. If she won't eat anything at all, not milk, cream, water or anything...Well try phoning a vet for a solution, otherwise your poor kitty may be wasting away...I'm sorry that this is happening. I'll pray for your little kitty.

Milk is not good for kitty anyway. She needs a Vet. Find one and make payments. Ask your friends who they go to. When you adopt an animal you are responsible for the welfare and health of that baby. Get her some medical care and FAST

don't give milk...most cats are lactose intolerant. Try some baby food, meat flavored and see if this sparks her interest. If she does not eat soon...you will have no choice but to go to the vet unless you want your kitty to starve to death and die. Call around and tell vets your situation and see if you can set up a payment plan.
