I had a mountain lion stalk me in Yosemite for 20 minutes. I could hear him crunching through the brush so I moved from tree to tree to prevent a direct line of attack.

When I got to the open road, I knew I was safer, but not fully safe.

I even got into the river to make it harder for an attack. Man, that water was cold!

When I was 12 my dad and I were out picking wild blueberries for our pancakes at the cabin. We kept seeing the blueberry bush shaking, but didn't really pay attention. well we had just about enough for fresh blueberry pancakes. Then just exactly opposite the 5 foot wide bush, a 450 lb black bear stood up and looked at us. We looked at it, it looked at us, we still looked at it, processing this information. Then all of a sudden I said OH F*CK my dad looked at me, I looked at him. And we both took of Running like MAD!!!!! We didn't stop till we hit the cabin about 1 1/2 mile away.

a deer scared the *%$# out of me when I was hunting. it snuck up on me and almost stepped on me, it stayed there eating grass for like 2 min. then it just decided to leave. I was eating a pbj at that moment with my bow setting next to me, but the deer was too close to make a move for the bow much less draw it for a shot.
