just like the psychological academia are being divided into scientific and postmodernist fanatics
somewhere in between there is a mixture of subjectivity and objectivity that will get us through
what's happening now though is an integration of the two, well actually, that needs to happen, i think we're even further back - fighting for the dominance of one essentially unsustainable half of reality

If you think we are BECOMING a nation of religious fanatics, then you need to go back and study history. Fanaticism is nothing today like it was 200 years ago or even 50 years ago. Nor is this even close to a religious nation now. If you mean that a lot of people seem to have ideas and views based on their religious faiths that you find to be against common sense, then perhaps YOU are an anti-religious fanatic? It's all about point of view and perception. The majority of people in the world are religious or at least believe in a god. The majority of religious people are NOT fanatics in their respective faiths. You hear and see the vocal minority of fanatics in most religions, so it only seems like that's what they're all about.

common sense, really now how do compare common sense with religious fanatics, i need a definition for fanatic,
is this someone that believes in a Almighty
supreme being, and goes to church to learn about him,
or is it some one that wears a scarf on they head and gets on there knees 6 or more times a day,or what ,you need to make yourself more understandable, since we have no sense,or are you lumping everyone with any religious believes into one category, not very good common sense if you are

Um....we have always been a nation full of religion, although the word fanatic could be debated. Samuel Adams may have some words to say about that, if he were alive.

Practicing your faith is common sense. I think the religious fanatics are in the mid-east. Anyone can take religion, or anything else to extremes.

It does seem as though Christians are becoming more fanatical. Neo-conservatives are a very scary bunch. I just hope this trend doesn't last long.

No - I just think that the extremist voices and acts are the only ones that are getting the attention today, both here and around the world.
