Is in it their culture not to shave? Just asking....

Because the US is one of the only countries that teaches women that body hair is gross.. most other countries find it attractive for some reason.. don't know why.. but thats becuase I was raised in the US

Now, there are many who have started doing it. But, it used to not be in their cultures to shave anywhere. It is mostly Americans that make a big deal of shaving legs, etc.

Actually in other parts of the world..hair is attractive because it demonstrates high hormone production. More hair..more hormones..more fertile...stronger children. There are many cultures (obscure african cultures mostly) that find women with facial and bodily hair very attractive. Its fabled that the woman is more likely to produce a male child

I have armpit hair and I am not Chinese.
Maybe it's because it is itchy to shave armpit hair. Also ingrown hairs due to shaving are totally lame.

It is based on their culture. Many Asian used(some still)to belive that our body is given by the parents. So cutting body hair is sign of less repeat to their parent. I think this how it begins... but as many countries do.. they advanced in cultural and economically. Usually economic advance a lot faster than cultural.. So.. they are keeping the old cultural thing, such as marage in early or kids taking care of their parents etc. In wealth area, many people cut theirs but in poor area.. still in stone age. If you compare from Hong Kong and China, it is easy to see the difference. Most of people in Hong Kong shaves them and their culture has a lot of influence of western culture. However, China isn't.. I mean not yet. I think it will take next 50 or maybe 40 yrs. Cities are fine but people in the country side... they are still living in mud block house.
