Probably the summer heat has made him lethargic.

Based on the swollen eyes and the unresponsive demeanor, I would say you cat has a concussion. You say "he came home," which indicates that your outdoor cat is not under adequate supervision, and runs wild. This is a good indication that something severe has happened to him. While a car would probably have killed him, something a little less lethal might have gotten a piece of him. Your prime suspect is another person, maybe kicking your cat. Dogs, if you are in the city, and other animals (wild animals, cows, etc) if you are in a rural area.
As others have suggested, take your cat to the vet. I am positive that after the vet looks at the eyes, the first thing he'll suggest is an x-ray or cat-scan (no pun intended). At this point, if you do not take the correct action, regardless of your rationale, and your cat dies, you will be the only one to blame, as you could have given him a chance by bringing him in right away.

Take him to the vet. Sounds like he ingested antifreeze. Some people hate animals and they mix the antifreeze in with hamburg and feed it to the dogs and cats. Sometimes it is just on the ground - like when a radiator overheats or has a leak. It is sweet so the animals do eat it. Causes neurological problems and death. VET is only way to determine if this is the problem. And only way to save him, which may already be too late.

I understand not affording a vet right now. My kitten is sick, and I can not afford a vet either. If I could find one to look at her for free, I would take her. But your cat could have possible been nicked by a car.

Ask your friends which Vet they use and call and see if you can take that poor Kitty Kat to him and pay him off in installments. I have no idea what happened to him but he needs medical care! If you don't want to do that take him to your local Humane Society - they will probably make you sign surrender papers and then he will probably be put down. Please try the first suggestion first. I know my Vet has let me pay him in installments when I had a high bill.

He is very sick. I know you can't afford it but he needs a vet or he will die. I am so sorry I love my cats too. At least take him to the shelter so they can put him to sleep in a merciful way. Once again I am so sorry and hope I am wrong.

Is he urinating? He may be "blocked." My cat had similar symptoms a couple years ago and I had to rush him to the vet. He was blocked, which is crystalization in his bladder that "blocks" his uninary flow. I didn't know the signs back then, and it ended up where he was immobile. Feel on his blatter. If he cries/squeals/etc, he may be blocked. Traces of blood is an indicator as well. It cost me $600!

By all means see if there is any animal or pet organizations in your area with free medical aid for your cat. Call animal shelters, pet clinics, and vets! He needs attention fast! Its very hard to be able to pin point the problem, but he certainly needs medical attention now!

Take your cat to a Vet! That's always a smart choice for pet owners.
