Did you know that your thumb had a crotch? Apparently the thumb crotch is the area of your hand, that little flap of skin, between your thumb and forefinger where the fingers connect to the main hand. Who knew?

Hmm..it's not really the answer that you're looking for, but there is a well-known traditional accupressure point in that location, known as the Hegu point.
Various stimulations of the Hegu point (pressure, pinprick, ice, etc.) are said to relieve headaches, tooth ache, vomiting in pregnancy, and all sorts of other ills.
Exactly what that flap of skin is called though.... I'm afraid I couldn't turn up that odd little bit of trivia for you. Good luck!
