i dropped it and the battery fell out, and now everytime i turn it on it says the lid that the battery is in is opened when its not and it won't go away. i have an olympus stylus verve.

You may have bent the lid enough so there is not a good contact between the lid and the battery. See if there is a metal tab that can be lifted a little to make a tighter contact with the battery.
