Many Christians seem excited about it and me on the other hand I am kind of afraid in a sense that is something kind of scary according to the book of Revelations and prophecies.

If it happens now OK. But no one can determine that. I wish I could die old after it, I also don't want my children or their children to experience this.

The Bible says that many Christians were killed (decapitated) for not accepting the mark of the Devil that allowed them to buy and sell.

Could this happen in another way?

To tell you the truth I try to not worry much about it. Many christians are sure that is going to happen now but I feel that nobody can't determine that.

Once the rapture takes place, the 7 year tribulation will begin. It's during this time the ones that were left behind will go through all of the bad things that will happen. You think there's bad in the world now, this is nothing compared to what will happen.
But if you're saved, you won't have to go through it, you will be with Jesus. But, the ones left behind will have a second chance to give their soul to God and ask Him to forgive them. But, you will seal your doom, if you accept the "mark of the beast" for without it, you will not be able to buy nor sell. This is real folks, and it's going to happen. Sooner than what you think. So many prophecies are being fulfilled. My advice is to accept Christ as your Savior, and you can go to Heaven in the rapture. I am ready to go, but it makes me sad to think of all the people that are not. Especially in my family. :(

I am excited because there is nothing to fear and I will be with my Lord Jesus forever. Christians will be Raptured, in my understanding (there are other Christians who believe Rapture occurs in mid tribulation and others that think after the tribulation or at the second coming. Either way, it is not a matter of salvation as to which way the rapture will happen is believed), prior to the Tribulation, hence the excitement for Rapture to occur as there are so many signs currently pointing to what could be the beginning of tribulation. If you are a true Christian (only you and God know this) you have nothing to fear. Yes, the depiction in Revelation of decapitation for refusal of the mark is more than likely to be literal. Think about it, there are decapitations going on now and throughout the Iraq war with POW's. It really isn't so far fetched as some believe. At least not in the Middle East Countries. It really wouldn't be so unrealistic for that to spread. A good portion of Europe have groups such as Hezbollah functioning freely and there are cells even in the US I would imagine. Even if you didn't get decapitated, if you didn't have the mark, you could buy or sell, hence you will die of starvation or get a disease and not be able to get medical treatment. I don't worry about end times taking place, as the Bible tells us we should watch for the signs and be able to tell, yet not know exactly. Also, that we should continue as Christians to seek out others that do not know the Lord and lead them "for the Harvest is many and the workers are few" - Christians would be the workers and the Harvest is those out there who do not know the Lord Jesus as saviour. If you have little Children during the tribulation, they would go with the Lord Jesus at the Rapture as they are not at the age of accountability, therefore, Jesus will take them. What a Glorious Moment of the Lord Jesus gathering his Church. Come Lord Jesus, Amen!

I think you will need to read more of what the bible says about this. I am presently compiling a list of all the chapters in the Bible which says something about the end of the world, there are many chapters, in many of the NT books and in some of the OT books. So check back on my q and a for that.

We are just as excited as those who knew when Jesus was comming the first time. But our excitiment is ballanced by the tribulation, spiritual trauma knowning that many are not going to make it on the "ark" to use a metaphore of a parable.

You should read the book of Revelation very carefully before getting too worried about the rapture. It's a relatively new theological teaching, and there's a lot of popular ideas about it that aren't necessarily supported by the text.

Here's a wikipedia article about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapture

It is normal to feel that you want to live FULL life before the Rapture...Like you said no can determine the Rapture but many scholars are nodding in belief that the Rapture is extremely close....Hopefully we'll be able to join Jesus before this happens....God Bless!
