According to Genesis 3:20 "Adam callled his wife's name Eve, because she had to become the mother of everyone liviing." So according to this statement, we are all related. We are all brothers and sisters.
In the beginning of mankind there was no concept of incest. This word didn't even exist. Genesis 5:3,4 states that "Adam lived on for a hundred and thirty years... Meanwhile he became father to sons and daughters." One of Adam's sons was Cain, and one of Adam's daughters became Cain's wife. At that time in human history when humans still had outstanding physical health and vitality, as indicated by the length of their lives (see Adam above), the likelihood of passing on defects as a result of marrying a close relative was not great.
After some 2,500 years of human history, however, when mankind's condition had greatly deteriorated, then God gave Israel laws forbidding incest (Lev. 18: 8-10).

It is assumed that Adam and Eve had more children after they were cast out of the Garden, and some of these children had to be girls. After all, during that time in history, people lived for hundreds of years.
It is also assumed that the inbreeding problems we face today because of 'bad genes" were not an issue since Adam and Eve were created by God and were essentially perfect at the time of creation.
So, yes, there was inbreeding between brothers and sisters, and although many of us--including myself--find that gross, during that age of innocence, they probably thought nothing of it.

Like so many aspects of the Torah, from which the so-called "Old Testament" is drawn, Christians take the story of Adam and Eve as literal. In fact, when confronted with the problem of the wives of Cain and Seth, editors of the early books made effort to explain it. Chapter 4 sets out the genealogy of Cain, and claims that Cain married his sister. Also, the lineage of Seth to Enos, although there is no mention of Seth having a wife, much less who she would be.
Contained in this story is another indication that the stories told in this work are not literal, but more metaphorical in nature. The lineages of both Cain and of Seth end with the same names. The line of Cain passes from Henoch, to Irad, to Maviael, to Mathusael, to Lamech. The line of Seth passes similarly from Enos, to Cainan, to Malaleel, to Jared, to Henoch, to Mathusala, to Lamech. As you can see, the last three name in the line of Seth appear in the line of Cain. So, to which line did Noe belong, as his father could have been either Lamech?
It is possible, in fact, that there were only two sons, and that there never was a "Seth." Later editors of the work may have taken the liberty to create him as a more favorable ancestor figure.

Adam's and Eve's son came from them by having intercourse.
Please keep that in mind as Adam and Eve were the creation of God.

In the book of Genesis, when it talks about the birth of Cain and Able, the Hebrew texts have marks next to the names. These marks denote how many girls were born at the same time. Women at the time that Genesis was writen were basically second class citizens, much like they still are in the middle east, therefore were not mentioned unless they did something extrordinary. Cain had one twin sister and Able had 2.
Yes, they did commit incest with their twins to have more children. But God had not established a law against it at that time. If you make a copy of an original, it looks like the original. But after making copies of copies, after a while the quality degrades. Eventually God had to stop the degredation before it got too bad.

I heard somewhere that in Genesis ( maybe in earlier versions than King James) The women came from the land of Nod... apparently, the children of Lillith ( the first mate of adam, created as he was, who was sent away from Eden b/c she wasn't biddable, she had a mind of ger own) were "demons" who lived in that land that she founded, and became the breeding stock for Adam and Eve's kids. But what would I know? I'm Wiccan. Just because I've read the bible... man.

Adam and Eve had other children outside the Garden. Some were females so the son's married them and had their own families. But you knew that already.

They had to be offspring from Adam and Eve. God only created those two. All others were their children mating with each other. You have to remember that this was at the beginning of the earth and before the crucifixion of Jesus, so sin was not like it is now.

It is written, Adam & Eve lived nearly 1000 years & they had sons & daughters. So?
The first born are usually named. Not all the children. Since Cain murdered Able, & God exiled Cain, then comes Seth. After that came the other children.
