try these:
1. Pull two four-inch, equal-sized sections of hair back from the left and right sides of your face, leaving two curls loose to frame it.
2. Gather the sections together into a half-ponytail at the center of the back of your head. Secure the half-ponytail with an elastic, pulling only a small amount of the hair through the last time to create a small knot.
3. Take a small piece of loose hair from directly beneath the knot and wrap it around the elastic to create a finished look. Secure the ends underneath the knot with a bobby pin.
1. Create a center part.
2. Take a three-inch section of hair to the left of the part, and begin twisting it down and back. As you twist, gather more hair into the twist along the way, so all the hair above it is incorporated. Stop the twist just behind your left ear, and secure it there with three or four bobby pins, letting the ends hang loose..
3. Follow the same steps to create a twist on the right side of your head, but keep the twist going around the back of your head until it meets the first twist. Secure it there with three or four bobby pins.
4. Take a two-inch section of loose hair and twist it into a bun where the two large twists meet, and secure it with three or four bobby pins.
1. Pull all of your hair back into a high ponytail. Secure it with an elastic, but the last time you pull the hair through the elastic, don't pull it all the way out so that you create a large loop.
2. Gently tug a few curls out of the loop at the bottom so they hang loose underneath it.

I didn't read everybody else's answers , some people might have said this, but if you want just a different style, wash your hair at night and french braid it after your hair dries for about...... 1 hour, and then go to sleep or whatever. When you wake up, take the braids out and spray a little hairspray, the waves look great. If you know how to french braid, you can do a lot. Try styles where you mix it up, using braids and roles and straight and curly. Good luck

well,
i'm trying to grow my hair long, but i'm not really sure why . in the end, i'm going to end up having to cut it anyway. too long hair is not the best look because it ends up too heavy to hold volume . so I think we'll both have to face the facts and cut it. Right now my hair is like in the middle of my back. I think you shouldn't go much lower than that. I think long hair is pretty, but there's not much you can do with it except pull it back in a bun as big as your head (and that's not very attractive)

i would say just get it layered [long layers] and cut maybe 3 inches off that not only will help your wanting to bun it but will keep dry ends from appearing or get a spiral perm those look really nice as well also i use a topsy tail to dress up a do available at walmart

get bangs and get it layered
and also get a trim because lower backs just a little bit too long and only FEW people can pull it off...
you might be one of the few but only you know that
also when youre bored just play around with it and try different hairstyles and go out and watch how people react to it
even if it looks like sht you can always wash it and try again the next day

OK,well you probably need to cut to about shoulder length. Then you can get it layered,it works,my hair used to be long and i got it layered and now it's beautiful. Then after you get it layered, get some highlights and lowlights. A light blonde to go w/ the browner hair and a darker brown to mix with the blonde highlights, your hair will look wonderful!!!! Good luck!

There is no sense in having long hair if you are constantly putting it up in a bun. I would cut it not too short that you couldn't tie it up, but short enough that it was wash and go.

Get a book from your local book store on hair do's or do a bunch of different styles of braids.

try getting it cut in a cute style, maybe layers. Or try a good flat ironed style. You could get it french braided, or even get Nubian knots.
