Have the vet you talked to do them.

Tails SHOULD have been docked at 3-5 days old by the breeder's vet (!), ears are usually cropped between 8-12 weeks depending on the breed. I wouldn't reccomend doing either, though - now the tail dock would be a very involved, bloody, and traumatic surgical procedure. Not to mention dangerous - the reason it is done so young is the tail is part of the spine, but it is not fully developed at 3-5 days & safer to cut then. Now, the vet (assuming you could find one that would even agree to do the risky surgery) would be cutting into the spine! A good, reputable breeder would have known to have this done (a warning sign that this breeder is NOT a good one) at the proper time. As for the ears, Min Pins look fine without the crop. Cropping is purely cosmetic, and is slowly being phased out, even banned in England, Australia & other places as cruel & inhumane. So, please, for the safety (on the tail) and comfort (on the ears) of your pet, don't do this.

Most vet's won't crop the tail if the dog is older then a couple of days. Anything older then that, the pain is just too much and the procedure is consider inhumane. As for the ears, PLEASE DON'T CROP THE EARS! This surgery is painful and unnecessary. The healing process alone is many trips to the vets office for cleaning and bandage changes. As for price of an ear cropping, most vets will charge anywhere from $600+ because it is a cosmetic surgery and not one that will help you pets quality of life.

go to the vet...don't bargain shop this...by the way, most vets don't do ear cropping much anymore...there is a big trend away from this, because it is considered cruel...puppies usually have their tails docked within a week or so of birth, the older it is, the more it will cost.

just take puppy back to the vet! The vet can do the procedures safely and with minimal harm to the animal. Reduce the risk of infection and the likelyhood of paying fines and possibly going to jail for animal cruelty and stick with your vet!

When it somes to ears... i wouldn't worry about cost so much. You want to be sure who is doing it knows what they are doing. Usually only vets do the clipping of ears and tails.

OMG. Is the dog not cute enough for you as he is? I'm also thinking that if you can't even spell it - croped? - you shouldn't do it. Take the dog back to the people you stole it from. I'm only saying what others are thinking.

When in doubt, Always go to the Vet. A pet is like your child, would you take your child to a neighbor to have his/her tonsils removed, no you would take it to a doctor to make sure it was done right,,,, I hope!!!!! A vet can anesthetize the dog, and it will not feel pain, no one else can do that safely.

that is so cruel. I hope someone comes along and chops off your ears. That is mutilation and you should be ashamed of yourself.
