Have the courage to think for yourself and have your own relationship with God! You have your OWN DIRECT CONNECTION and do not have to rely on interpretation that has been translated over and over again by other people, many hell bent on CONTROLLING OTHER PEOPLE.
Is your God a God of Love? Is Love the Law?
Or is it all about fear???
If so you can keep version all for yourselves and enjoy all that fear. I hope it somehow serves you.
My God is all about Love as the most powerful, all encompassing force that includes ALL of us
I think Jesus is on everyones side, sister
not only those with self rigtheous smoke comin out your nostrils

First of all, saying that the bible is a fairy-tale is not a hateful statement. It doesn't connote hate in any way. Saying the bible has errors is also not hateful. This is just merely people expressing their opinion about something that seems unreasonable to them. You must admit that it seems somewhat outlandish to believe that a supernaturally power WROTE an actual book. Or you'll say that the bible was written by some human from the word of god or whatever. But any time a human has a hand in ANYTHING there is going to be error. ESPECIALLY something rewritten so many times, and with so many versions. IF the bible is in fact the word of god, might the stories in it be fictional, but meant to show you how to live and why to live that way?
Second, I am agnostic. If there is a god and Jesus and heaven, GREAT, but if there isn't, then I would live my life treating other people as I want to be treated and helping people anyway. What I'm saying is, I don't need to be threatened with HELL to motivate me to be a good person. I am a good person, and I know it. Isn't that what really counts? Now if god wants to toss that all aside on judgment day and say "you, YOU didn't believe with blind faith in the Bible's stories, so I'm disregarding the fact that you were an honest, kind and caring person, and you will go to HELL!!!!" then I don't think god has very good judgment.
Look at some of the answers to your question. These are educated people - educated people who are not being mean or rude, but are just expressing an opinion that isn't exactly like yours. Do you really think that people should be sent to hell, just for expressing different opinions?

Your argument falls apart where you claim "without ever reading the Bible, you quote the filth from these sites."
First, your allegation is unfounded. I am a former Christian. It is because I raised these sorts of concerns within my church that I was chastised. Since no one was willing to address my questions, I left the church.
So I have not only read, but I have studied the Bible.
Second, you are biased. You say that these sites are filled "with filth." That doesn't support your case; it is simply an expression of personal opinion. I've not visited any site; my questions come from my own reading and study.
If and when I find myself standing before God, I will know that I have served my God. He will be the one to judge me.
And FYI - every time I read one of these posts that is a veiled attempt at converting someone, I am only reassured that my decision to leave the religion - but to maintain my faith - was one of the best choices I have ever made.

I do believe in God and Christ, but I don't believe the filth of the bible. It's written by man. Everyone knows that people can not be trusted. They were drunks and sexist pigs back then (and still are). Why should I believe? Why should I go to church to be chastised for not paying for the services of God? Why should I follow the beliefs of others and not my own? God put these thoughts in my head. I follow only him. He made me gay and He made me as opinionated as I am so that I can follow Him the way He saw fit.

1) I try not to thoughtlessly bash religion, and I've never quoted one of those sites, most of which I find silly. I have read the bible cover-to-cover and was raised Christian.
2) I don't think any of us should start believing just in case "we're wrong."
3) We don't believe in Christ as a deity anymore than we believe in Judgment Day, so what does it matter?
- a non-believer

The bible is full of metaphors, also known as parables. They were meant to teach life lessons through abstract examples, not to be taken literally, word for word.
The argument that "I believe in Jesus because I am too scared out of my mind not too" is not a compelling argument either. A vast majority of so called "beleivers" are simply trying to cover their @ss, in the off chance that there is indeed a heaven and hell just exactly as described in the bible. Since most agnostics (such as myself) don't beleive in it anyways, trying to use scare tacticts to make them beleive won't work.
You can not put the fear of God into someone who does not believe in God!!!!!

I do not believe that will happen because I do not believe in the teachings of your theology. I don't need a website to support my non-belief.. I've not even visited any. I have read the bible twice cover to cover and have made my decision based on that.
I have no problem with those that choose to believe. I respect everyones right to choice.

First off, who told you that non-believers don't read the Bible? I can't speak for everyone, but I know that I have. For me, there are just too many unbelieveable stuff.
As for your question, I know that that is is what will happen. God loves us, and doesn't judge us. And he never will.

You and all the others that have asked this... It's not our belief, we don't believe it's real, so we really don't give it any thought, nor do we care.
I know you all can't understand how someone can just not believe in it...but we try to be honest and tell you about our views, and it isn't our fault if people don't like the answers we give them about who we are.

I am a non-believer and try really hard to not make hateful statements, seriously, you can believe what you want to believe...But why is it you are allowed to make the comments you make about non-believers? We believe in something else...What if you are wrong?
take care..
