Procedes will benifit a local Humane Society. Mostly employees will be donating the items for the basket and selling the raffle tickets. So far we thought about the night being of family magic with fun things for families to do together. I'm interested in inexpensive items to put on a list for employees to choose from to purchase for the basket. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Well..lets see...you could have a family movie night basket...with popcorn and movie candy and gift cards for blockbuster.
You could have family game basket...with bingo, cards, yahtzee, dominoes and some chips.
A cookie mix basket....you could make some sand art cookie mixes and put them in baskets with some wooden spoons for mixing and of course the recipes. YOu could also include frosting markers so they can decorate them.
OR, like that one, a dessert ingredients basket...or a spaghetti dinner basket...things that the family can bake or cook together.
Movie theater gift cards
Chuck E Cheese gift cards
Oh, how about a family membership to Science Centers across the US? That would be a great addition. They usually run about $100 for a year.
A zoo pass
Lazer Tag gift card
Some books with vacation ideas or family activities.

Well, you could also ask some businesses for donations since this is an NPO. Donations you can probably get are a restaurant, movie and limo gift certificates so the family can begin the night with a limo ride (or volunteer someone with a nice car to be chauffer) to a restaurant to eat a meal together then go to a movie together. Staff can buy games, magic markers, glow in the dark stars (to wish upon), dvd'-- things that go a long with the theme. You could get bowling and swimming certificates. Theatre tickets to a high school or college play or sports events. Have a portrait studio donate a family portrait. Maybe a local artist could draw one?

Good luck and have fun!

think magic tricks for the basket. so maybe a cuddly toy rabbit, a magic set, a selection of tricks purchased from a shop specialising in this area. consider asking the store to donate items for the raffle.
think out side the box as well, remember magic could mean a night of illusion and magic tricks. but it could also mean a magic night with a loved one so think about getting a donation from a local reasturant for a meal for two.
and or consider getting in touch with a local travel agent or tour operator to donate a romantic getaway for two, a magic holiday.
or a magical family vaction to that alleged magical place for kids disneyland for example.

as for the basket how about making that a wicker effect as used in some escapology tricks.
what about getting a local entertainer to donate a nights performance for a childs party.
i hope this helps a little. just thinking outside the box a little. i'm sure you can think of better items.

Family magic- how about a DVD of David Copperfield or David Blaine or another well known magician, along with a box of microwave popcorn, some sour gummies candy or pop rocks ("magic" candy), and/or tickets for 4 to the movies, a concert/ symphony or an art museum so the family can experience the magic of the Arts at work.

First of all sit down and consider the ages of the people you are aiming the raffle at and what sort of income level they are at....when you have this you may look at including luxuary items like facials massages, a night in a hotel room, with champagne for the adults or if you are aiming at the family itself look for themed restaurants or a magic show that is comming to town or a circus organize a limosine service for the family to travel in, and mayby dinner somewhere that is family orientated. You can include little magic items like the wand that turns into flowers, stuff like that or capes, etc think of what would make it a magical night for one family or grandparents with grandchildren. I hope you go well with your raffle.

ps think about your colouring too alot of people associate magic with black and white, tuxedo's, and glitter, stars and top hats, once again good luck with it all

How about the magic of movies? Some movie tickets or video rental coupons, microwave popcorn, boxes of movie type candy (Mike and Ikes, malted milk balls, Red Hot Tamales), some bottles of pop. Also a cozy throw to snuggle up under might be nice. Also, for family magic, how about a magic kit, some colored paper and markers to make some tickets ( the kids could make and give to their parents) and the kids could put on a show for their folks. I am still thinking....

There are a lot of 'magic supplies' type stores online. I just did a google search for magic supplies and got a good many. Check out amazon for magic supplies too. Ask for donations of a few dollars and share on shipping. I would rather give you 5 bucks than be tasked with finding and picking up a trick deck of cards.

Since it's a family night of magic, how about a fantasy movie on dvd, chocolates, dinner by candle light with a gift certificate to a local restaurant

I'd be interested in hearing more about your basket

How about taking a magician's hat...you know the kind that they pull a rabit out of...and turning it upside down and using that for the 'basket'. You could fill the upside down hat with some different things. Maybe two tickets to see a magic show? Not sure if there are any magicians that are coming to your town to perform or not. You could put a magic wand in there to go with the theme. Maybe there are magicians DVDs or magician performances on DVD?

Alright, I'm stuck on what to put in the hat...but I thought of the hat!!! Gotta give me points for that!!!

Movie passes or video rental gift cards. Glow in the dark star and planet stickers. Flashlights. S'mores stuff to fix. Jars for lightning bugs. Nicely scented candles. Fancy sleep masks. Microwave popcorn. A nice constellation map.
