Not including those that can't have them. I am truly sorry for those that want to have kids, but can't. That said, do you feel that it is a woman's duty to have children, is it selfish not to. Let me know your feelings.

I think it is completely ridiculous for anyone to make a woman feel like it is important for her to have children. No one should be charged with the "duty" to have children. Finally, there is absolutely nothing selfish about deciding not to have children!

I understand that society places pressure on everyone to have children, men too. The pressure comes from all angles, and, more often than not, it comes from the people we care about the most, our families. To me, there is nothing more selfish than someone expecting others to have kids just for their own gain. For example: a mother'n law telling her daughter 'n law that she expects a grandkid. I mean, how selfish of her? ...and I use that example cause I know its a real one.

I figure it is just like anything else. People look down their nose at people that are different than them. People think the right way to be is the way that they are. Unfortunately, that is completely flawed logic. Having a child is a choice for those who can have them. It isn't a duty, selfish, etc.

I just don't understand how anyone could be comfortable telling others that they must have children. What gives them the idea that they have the right to make family planning choices for others? If you think about it, that is absolutely crazy! Where does someone get off deciding that someone else should have kids? RIDICULOUS!

I am thoroughly interested in reading any posts that claim someone must have kids. I just hope that they can give some kind of answer as to why they think they have the right, ability, etc. to tell someone else how they should plan their family.

I also feel a void for women whom are unable to bear a child. I also think that not all women should have children and I think this for a variety of reasons.
However, I have 2 grown daughters, who I might say have brought nothing but sheer love and joy to my life.

I love being a mother and have been truly blessed because of it.

This is a question that is appropriate for an individual, not a class of society.

It is imiportant that children are born to parents that want them, and are capable of caring for them. Nothing else is important
