I feed my dogs 9-lives dry as a treat. They love it!

Also, my dogs love apples, carrots, and steamed vegetables.

Cat's can eat dog food and it will not hurt them. If a dog eats cat food it can damage their kidney. We have an older dog who used to snipe some of the cat's food and we still have problems with her now, 12 years later.

Just feed the cat someplace high where the dog can't go.

Unlike cats dogs need a steady diet of the same food. Their system is dependent on consistency of certain proteins and nutrients. Without this your dog is susceptible to digestive problems as little as gas and diarrhea to something life threatening like bloat (see link). Even a change in brand dog food can upset a dog's health. "Dogs and cats each have special dietary needs and should be fed the appropriate pet food. Cats should not eat dog food because it does not provide all the essential nutrients a healthy cat needs. In short, dog food is designed to meet the nutritional needs of a dog and cat food is designed to meet the needs of a cat." The high protein and fats in cat food may be filling for your dog and end his hunger but the nutrients are too hard for his body to process.

Sometimes, but its not really good for them. Dogs and cats have different nutritional requirements and their foods are respectively made to satisfy those dietary requirements. Cat food can be troublesome on a dog's digestive system, so its not a good idea to feed cat food to a dog.

My dogs would rather have cat food than dog food. so I mix cat food in with their dog food. They get a little of what they want & they also get what they need. They don't get much cat food. My dogs are very spoiled.

yes, but it's not good for the dog's health in long term. cat food has a higher fat content but lack several nutrients that dog needs.
