Torment is an emotional or mental suffering that haunts or tortures your waking days and your sleeping nightmares. It is a very difficult emotion to resolve. Many situations can cause this, and may only be situational in nature. However, anyone who is suffering should seek medical attention to rule out any underlying medical problems, so that you may find peace. If you are medically sound, a psychologist or counselor may be recommended--this doesn't mean that your "crazy", you just need someone you can trust to talk to, who will listen, and help you, help yourself.

It's a head thing. Torment is intense suffering. You are beaten
down day by day. You may or may not hear voices, you have
this "tape" playing in your head that tells you bad thoughts.
It plays over & over when you are depressed.
Sometimes a medication for depression helps. Seroquel helps
me when I feel this way.

In the spirit world, it is the devil and his cohorts oppressing you.
this is nothing to fool with. Ask God to help you - teach you how
to tell that creep to flee and he will. He is good at putting those
tapes in your mind to try and wind you down spiritually.
