In the bible it says that God gave us the sign of the rainbow to show that he'd never drown the earth like that again...but I think that the rainbow was the sign of the first 'rain' there ever was...is it possible that The Noahs Arch flood was the First rainfall in history???...so the reason why there wasn't a rainbow before is because there wasn't any rain casted on earth before Noahs flood....

and i'm trying to say that the water could have been already here...thats the reason for this theory. all the water didn't evaporate until noahs arch...which could have been the first rainfall...i guess i should have posted this question in the science section...oh well...

How very insightful of you to figure this out! Not many people think through it enough to come to the conclusion you have. I agree with you.
We know that in the antedeluvian times (pre-flood), the earth's climate was much different. The only "rain" was basically a gentle mist from localized daily evaporation and precipitation (according to Genesis 2:5), keeping the world everywhere at comfortable temperatures and humidities, and supporting an abundance of plant and animal life in all regions of the globe.
There were no deserts or icecaps or uninhabitable mountain heights;
Because of the "vapor canopy" covering the whole world, there were no atmospheric movements to bring rainstorms, blizzards, hurricanes and tornadoes, because the uniform temperatures of the global greenhouse will inhibit air mass movements of more than local extent.
I think it is all very interesting.

Yes, the flood during Noah's time was the first rainfall on the planet. Before that time, rain did not fall. The earth was watered by springs.
GE 2:4 This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created.
Genesis 2:4-6 "When the LORD God made the earth and the heavens-- 5 and no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the LORD God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no man to work the ground, 6 but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground."
There was no need for a rainbow before because God had never sent a flood. The rainbow came as a result of the flood because God knew that mankind needed an assurance that this wouldn't happen again. So, yes, the rainbow came as a result of the flood, but that doesn't mean that God didn't design it just for the purpose of a promise to mankind.

I believe that you are on the right track. The Bible indicates that until the time of the flood, that it had never rained before, so yes, it is the first time that it had rained on this earth. And it may have been the first rainbow too, but it is possible that the mist that watered the earth could also result in a rainbow; that is unless it was the way it happend today-- we call it dew, and it occurs at night.

The rainbow is a sign of God's Promise never to destroy living things on Earth by flood.(God made a Covenant with Noah and every living creature; the bow in the sky is the everlasting sign of the Covenant God made.)
It wouldn't be the first sign of rainfall --- after sin entered the world the mist that came up from the ground ceased(God cursed the land Genesis 3:17)) --- Some say it's the dew we have today --- but it's not enough to keep all the crops and plants sustained ---because the sun comes out and it's all dry again.... besides when I'm away for two weeks vacation my outdoor plants/flowers die(quickly) unless there's enough rain to sustain them---- the dew alone isn't enough to keep them nourished.
God sent forth rain(from the clouds) and mankind worked the soil and hunted for food --- before God provided for all their needs ---

Genesis 9:13-17 tells us that the rainbow is a reminder of God's Covenant with Noah that God will never Flood the earth again like that.
According to Revelations, when God destroys this old Heaven and Earth, it will be destroyed by Fire--to purge all Evil.
Then He will create a New Heaven and New Earth where all True Followers of Jesus will live and reign with Him.

Rainbows did not exist here on earth till there have been sufficient Water Molecules in the ambience to bend the solar right into a Rainbow. Plus it is worry-unfastened scientific awareness that Earth did not continually have water on it. So theoretically if the ambience till now the Flood did not have sufficient water in it to offer a Rainbow seen to the Human Eye, and the water that led to the Flood grew to become into presented to Earth by ability of Comets, there could then be sufficient water to offer a seen Rainbow.

I don't think that there wasn't any rain fall but I don't believe there was a rainbow after the rain. The rainbow was the promise made by God that He would never cleanse the earth with a severe flood again. He is going to cleanse the earth again but it won't be by flood. The promise to us that it won't happen again is the rainbow.

yes, creation scientists agree that before the flood, all the water was above the atmosphere, as another protective layer, which created ideal conditions where the oxygen was more compressed, harmful rays from the sun were deflected, and life could thrive. The flood was the destruction of that layer in the atmosphere, and yes, the first rainfall.God made the water fall, so God made the rainbow. what's the problem?

If there was no rain before, there would be no people! Whatever water sources there COULD have been would have long dried up. They'd all have died and many of them wouldn't have ever been born!
Look at some of the areas of the American Midwest that have had little water for months...that is only MONTHS...imagine never. People couldn't exist in an area that never had rain.

No the rainbow came after the flood and not as a sign rain was coming. If you look in the sky sometimes and see the rainbow in the sky and it hasn't rained be assured it has rained SOMEWHERE and the rainbow can be seen for miles.
