Definitely Maui! I moved there when I was 21 yrs. old until 37. There is one tenth the population as Oahu & if I were to list all the things to do it would be a 600 pg. book.Lanai & Molokai are also part of Maui county, only 7 miles away. Molokini is a crescent shaped island & fish reserve. Honolua Bay & the adjacent Bay is a fish reserve. Maui has some of the most consistent winds. (the America's Cup Crew trains there)Hana & Haleakala are unique. Maui No Ka Oi (Maui is the best!)

Oahu...it has everything!!!! Next Big Island (The Island of hawaii) It has Volcanoes Ntional Park..thre hottest and wettest palce on earth in has snow topped mountains (Mauna Kea) and black sand beaches (and white sand ones too) It is soooo exotic! Sportfishing, world class hotels, it's really huge, so get ready to drive, but not many people. The people are in Oahu, that make sit exciting anf fun for clubbing. Maui, is for the tourists. Its nice too, alot of tourists, but the greatest thing Maui has teh other islands don't is Criser Bob's Downhill Bike Ride. It's a 30 mi + bike ride from the top of an extinct volcano _Kilauea, at sunrise (so beautiful) down the side of the mountain, to the sea. Kauai RAINS waaaaay tooo much. I was born and raised in Hawaii, I have never been to Kauai when it didn;'t rain and the beaches are soooo tiny.

I would recommend going to Maui or Kauai or even the Big Island.
These are the 3 islands I would recommend if you don't want to get stuck in traffic or over crowed with a lot of people at the beaches these are islands to be at. Don't get me wrong O'ahu is my home island but I would much rather live on the outer islands where at least you know you will never be stuck in traffic and where its a much slower pace then O'ahu.

Listen from a guy who lives in Honolulu, surfs at Queen's beach, seen all the islands. It depends on what you want. If you want exoticness, go to Kauai. If you want a great vacations, go to the volcanoes at Big Island. If you want over commercialization, Oahu. The best I can give you is take a NCLA cruise, best on Pride of America or even better, Pride of Hawaii.

Maui. It's beautiful and there are plenty of things to see and enjoy like the island drive, the volcano, beaches, and Lahaina beach town. Plus they have good food.
