Because we were all born "in sin" i.e. with a sinful nature. Sin, for the spirit is a terminal illness, our spirit must die to sin, but through Jesus Christ we can be reborn spiritually.

To be born again is necessary because we must put away our old self and bring on the new. Our spirit man must be regenerated. Jesus did say that we must be born again in order to be received in his kingdom and it is sad that some believers stop at the confession of the mouth and not ask for the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

It is necessary because we are all born into a world of sin, we cannot help sinning (some of us anyway). Therefore God's only begotten son was sent to die for our sins. Jesus was baptized to show the people that baptism was a washing away of sins. So people are born again (baptized) in the blood of the lamb to wash away our sins. It was done because if not we would not have been able to enter the kingdom of God. No one is perfect or without sin. If you are with sin you cannot enter the kingdom of God. Because of Adam and Eve it is virtually impossible to get through life sin free. This born again(baptism) is a release from that.

When you accept Jesus as Savior, and repent of your sins and ask for forgiveness, you receive forgiveness and get a clean slate, God no longer counts your sins against you, you start anew = Born Again. You die to your old ways and live your life trying to be like Christ and glorifying God! If you do not do what is necessary (listed above) then you can not be forgiven and Born Again

Jn 3:3-7 one must be born by water and spirit and born from above.

Baptism is the normative way for a person to enter into heaven. God is infinite in His mercy, but did establish Baptism as the way. That is why He allowed John the Baptist to Baptize Him! He was God and did not need to be baptized, yet He taught as He always did through actions.

Sorry, but the idea of being "born again" was the brain child of misguided theologians given the task of translating 8 ancient texts (circa 1st through the 3rd centuries). Born again merely means that you are affirming your belief in a god. Since there have been over 2,500 gods and demi-gods, over 20,000 active religions in the world today, all I can say is to take your pick. Pray to whatever god makes you happy.

Because that is the only way to get redemption from Adams and our Sin is to be born again and washed in the Blood of the Lamb.

Nobody is born again but all will be raised from their death by the will of Allah at a time known to Him alone. They will be raised from their graves to account for the time given to them when they were alive on the earth. This will be the time that the magnificence and magnanimity of Allah's justice will prevail. Those who lived a life of poverty or richness, but remained steadfast in their belief of One Allah, did noble deeds, spoke the truth and waited patiently will be rewarded by Allah as this life on the earth is merely a temporary abode for testing of the options available to humankind juxtaposed against the commandments of Allah.

It's necessary ONLY if you want to be controlled and do everything you are told, and if you don't mind giving a large chunk of income away for the rest of your life, and if you can believe every single story that you hear -- all from your time serving a church.

Jesus said so, in order to see the Kingdom of God.
The kingdom of God is spiritual.
You have to be spiritual to enter that kingdom.
He was speaking of born of the spirit. You were already born of the flesh. Later He said the kingdom is within you.
He spoke of the Holy Spirit.
That is how you get born again.
