We should ban neither. Legalizing marriage for homosexuals doesn't harm anyone and offers both legal rights and recognition to people who deserve it. Any position opposing these unions is homophobic in my opinion.

I am definately not gay, believe me, but I still think that in this country(if you live in America) freedom is garenteed and that inculds marriage. None should be banned. As long as they are citizens, they have the same rights. If they want to marry some one of their own sex, thats their choice. Not allowing that would definately be discrimination. Whether you would attend a gay marriage or still be friends with some one gay is up to you, but I would never discriminate over sexual orintation. My only problem with gayness is that it somehow seems that a lot of hot guys end up gay. I don`t know why, it just seems like a lot of gay guys are hot which sucks, but as I said, their choice.

You can't ban gay marriage without messing up civil rights.

I love this silly debate.
Why does anyone care if gays get married?
Really name 1 person who was victimized by the fact 2 people love each other and want to formalize the union.
I am straight and have been happily married for over 12 years I cannot imagine the government or an outside party telling me my love for my wife and my marriage are invalid.
That is just fascism.
P.S. These couples will be together weather others choose to accept it or not. And in this country we have freedom of religion people's personal religious beliefs do not belong in the debate. Unless you want the government spelling out your religious beliefs to you.

Marriage is strictly a religous institution and the state should
have no say so in it. Only churchs and ministers should perform marriages after they determine that the couple meet some basic requirements.
Since allmost all religons beleive that God finds homosexuality
to be an abomination then obviously homosexuals would not be eligible for marriage.
And where do we draw the line. What if someone want to marry their dog or cat. You don't have to be religous to have moral values.

I love how Christians talk about how sacred the institution of marriage is.
Marriage started out as a property arrangement to replace former methods of genetic dispersal, namely pillaging and raping the neighboring tribe's women. We became more "civilized" when we sold our women rather than allow them to be stolen. This form of slavery evolved into marriage.
Leave the gays alone, let them get married. they deserve to be as miserable as the rest of us. Besides, they don't breed like rutting weasel immigrants from Catholic and Muslim countries.
