I was called a member of the peanut gallery by some chick. She said it laughin...was this a term of endearment(does she like me), or was it basically telling me to shut up.

She may not know this, but it is a derogatory term. In the 19th century, the group of seats that was the furthest from the stage of the theater were of course the cheapest. The people who sat there were the lower classes who couldn't afford the good seats. They would eat peanuts and throw the hulls on the floor. They were thought to be ignorant. Thus the saying "no comment from the peanut gallery".

When I was a little boy, about 100 years ago, there was a children's show on TV called the Howdy Doody Show. Where the kids sat was called the peanut gallery. The girl was not being nice to you at all.
