I deleted a similar question because all the answers though nice were not even relevant.

Im looking for sidebyside comparison of verses from different bible versions.
The closest of the original question would only do one bible at a time. Another one would only do a small choice set of verses.

All the other answeres were soley decent sites for invidual research and not even related to the question.
Im looking for what I have seen in the recent past but cant remember what it is was called and it was FREE and dos based.

I remmber that it was about 5 years ago and was then a very popular pgm and easy to use , and in fact is the reason I dont care about NIV.

People like 'how dare ' in these answeres are pure evil.

There is nothing impure or wrong in comparing different versions side by side.

In fact a educated christian should want to do this.

And what bible are you talking about? All im talking about is research differnces between the versions.?

Thanks to everybody else on the answers.
Some of these will be useful even if not exactly what I am looking for for verse research.

http://www.zondervan.com/Cultures/en-US/Product/Software/Index.htm?QueryStringSite=Zondervan
NIV Bible Study Library
... a NEW version in in process, give them a few more weeks to get it out.

... I had trouble with the link, try http://www.zondervan.com/ and select from there.

I am a translator and work mainly from the Greek text. This software allows you to point at a word in the NIV, click and see the Greek dictionary entry for the underlying word. You can then click the number for that word and see each time it os used and how it is translated. It is a very good program even for students with limited original languages backgrounds.

I find the regular bible software is a fast concordance. I have lots of software but I much prefer books to study. Cross reference in a study bible is better than software.

But check these out and see if it is what you want.

The Results Windows can display multiple Bible versions at once, automatically linked to display the same passages. This arrangement simplifies the linking problems that can occur with other programs which display Bible versions in separate windows.
