A wise person might be described as a person who, in the middle of experience and emotion, takes a wider perspective on things before acting or concluding.
People see themselves and their self-awareness and events even in the context of our time period. But, there aer concepts that transcend these 100's of years and are bigger than life.
For instance, the concept of violence is bigger than me and my pride or any one person. I believe a wise person would opt to choose to submit to the idea that ideas are bigger than us and that we should live to perpetuate those ideas rather than for personal gain.
A wise person (I believe) is not as quick to automatically take the immediate gratification of a better paying job, or something that a foolish impetuous person might grab, thinking only short-term.
In my personal experience, I often look too much to find temporal pleasures. I do that unsuccessfully for better or worse, but a wise man might say if I follow whatever God I believe in, i will get things of bigger value, even though I don't want those things and am too blind and foolish to realize their value.
A person might be credited for being a wise man for using a condom, whereas the fool doesn't. But should he get credit if we find out his action just came out of fear of getting a girl pregnant?
Sometimes people I hate, Monday morning quarterbacks say AFTER the fact, "you didn't make a very sie decision did you?" Well, ya never really know.
What about a guy whose military boss or superior says to attack a hill or to move forward during a war situation. The soldier is an independent thinker, a positive character trait that is discouraged by law enforcement and military personnel, and a grenade lands right where he was ordered to run to in order to attack the hill. this man was wise to think about it, or was he?
hope that helps

Trying to make your way through life is the most daunting of tasks. A wise person is merely someone who navigates through these tasks and is able to do it again the next day.

(Proverbs 4:1-9) 4 Listen, O sons, to the discipline of a father and pay attention, so as to know understanding. 2 For good instruction is what I certainly shall give to YOU. My law DO not leave. 3 For I proved to be a real son to my father, tender and the only one before my mother. 4 And he would instruct me and say to me: “May your heart keep fast hold of my words. Keep my commandments and continue living. 5 Acquire wisdom, acquire understanding. Do not forget, and do not turn aside from the sayings of my mouth. 6 Do not leave it, and it will keep you. Love it, and it will safeguard you. 7 Wisdom is the prime thing. Acquire wisdom; and with all that you acquire, acquire understanding. 8 Highly esteem it, and it will exalt you. It will glorify you because you embrace it. 9 To your head it will give a wreath of charm; a crown of beauty it will bestow upon you.”

the man who follows this
