It tells here how much icing you will need: http://www.wilton.com/wedding/cakeinfo/cakedata.cfm - that should help you out. For decorations, you should probably make another batch or half-batch of icing. Wilton.com also has lots of ideas for cake decorations.

About 6-8 cups, depending on how thick the icing is.

4 cake mixes. If you are making your own icing, you'll need 1 large can of shortening, 4 two pound bags of confectioner's sugar, cream of tartar, and milk.
