they mean man as in everyone! or its because back then boys were more into getting dirty and there best friends were dogs!!lol

because "Dogs a man's best friend" sounds better than "dogs a humans best friend." Girls can love dogs just as much. I know i love mine! What kind of dog do you have? I have a great pyrenese and a yellow lab

its been said that a dog is mans best friend and man is dogs worst enemy. it means dogs are friends to people and people are so mean to dogs. this is so true. i hate animal abuse.

Dogs if treated well love unconditionally and want you in their lives. My Dalmatian is a love and wags her tail so hard I think it will fling off to the side some day....especially when it starts to go like a propeller!!!!
