Guys like girls that do that - and dates don't have to consist of money value.
If you ask a guy to be a date at a friend or relatives wedding - you drive and no other expenses are needed.
If you just want to get to know this person, ask them to go to the beach with you or go have coffee at a Starbucks. If you're asking, you pay the tab.
There's no harm in that and it's public (safe).
Guys like women that are confident and assertive and self maintaining as well as outgoing and fun.
Go for it!

if you ask this guy out and he says no the worst that could happen that you know that he isn't the guy for you. but if he says yes then you could always go on a late evening picnic you make that way you don't have to worry about who is paying the bill. plus with the picnic you'll be able to see if he likes your cooking. As for who should drive why not ask him what he would like to do. Some guys like to be seen driving around a good looking woman. As for afterward if you feel comfortable with him why not think about a coffee bar or such just to extend the evening (but only if you have decided that you're still into him). i would suggest staying away from any alcoholic beverage, because you want him to get to know the real you and not who you are when you're drunk.

I think that a guy might think that your independent and that you know what you want and are not afraid to go after it. Depending on the guy, driving and who should pay is up in the air. If the guy believes in being a true gentlemen then he probably would like to drive and pay. BUT most guys today don't care. If you want to waste your money on a guy that may or may not be Mr.Right then go ahead. MORE POWER TO YOU!

He'll think you like him (which if you do, is cool). Don't sweat it. Call him.

As for the date, well, what do you two like? Avoid movies. First dates you really need to do something that creates communication and interaction. Go bowling or mini-cart racing or putt-putt.

Something that gets you two laughing and having a good time. That's the key.

Good luck!

I think he might like you to ask him out, especially if he seems shy. Of course, if you ask him out, etiquette dictates that you at least pay for the meal. If he insists on paying, just split the bill with him. As for who is to drive, just ask him that too! Good luck!

if you really like the guy ask him i don't see anything wrong with it. normally whoever ask the other person out should pay and drive. but if this guy is intersted in you then he would try to pick up the tab at least or else he's a wuss
