1. Goto your freezer.
2. get some ice cubes.
3. Place said ice cubes in a container of some sort.
4. Fill container with water to the brim.
5. Wait for the ice to melt.
6. Tell me how much water has overflowed.

Only if it happened overnight. I think with as slowly as the icecaps are melting, we don't have to worry about that anytime soon. Of course, we should take precautions, by taking care of the Earth, but there's no reason to flip out and panic, either.

Now go to your freezer get a tray of cubes and dump them on a plate..... by now ( in this heat ) the cubes will have started to melt ..... let the edge of the puddle be your coast line...... let the ice represent the Greenland ice shelf and Antarctica...... which both make the floating ice at the N pole look very small . What is happened to your coastline ?

I heard that within about 50 years, the oceans will rise some 25 feet. If you have a house on stilts by the beach in South Florida, say 35 feet up, then your house will be out about 5 miles in the ocean.

nobody actually think what can happen when they will need to fight for living places near river or any other drinkable water.Who cares about beach homes...
