Seriously, regardless of your faith or beliefs, have you ever been in any situations where you truly could feel actual evil? And if you did did that not solidify the fact that Pure Good must exist also? I have felt this evil before and perhaps that is part of why I have no doubt about God. Your polite answers are welcome and all rude ones will be politely ignored.
Peace Be With Youl,
Debra

Yes. But there is an awful lot of evil going around and most people at the time, who are standing right next to it, don't even notice it.

When some serial killer is living right next door to you, most neighbors will say "oh, I would have never thought, he was so quiet, so polite, etc."
But when people go into a weird basement, attic, a house with a "weird" energy and so on they will feel an "evil" presence. It is an emotional feeling that I think you are misinterpreting as evil, but it's really not evil, it just reminds you of something bad you have associated it with in your memory.
I doubt too many people felt there was an "evil" presence as they falsely accused people for dumb things back in the day and did horrifying things to them, tortured them, burned them alive. But perhaps those who accused those people of being witches, heretics, or whatever had a feeling of "evil" about that person. ...and of course it was all in their head and the evil really came out of the accusers not those they had accused. So perhaps the evil you are feeling is the bad inside of you. As we all have the capability of doing bad and good.

Did the German people feel "evil" all around them under Nazi rule? you would think they would, but no, they all were living pretty happily before being bombarded. either that or they never really said anything about it.
the serial killer next door, like I've meantioned.
War in any country.
Injustices are going on all around us, so you might feel evil at any given moment for any given reason since there is good and bad going on all the time everywhere.
No one with half a brain would say there is no "good" and "bad" it is just that the line between them can become obscured as you start seeing the world is shades of gray.
This again doesn't mean there are no absolutes.
It is just very hard to see what is good since goodness has to happen perfectly, the right choice in the right situation at the right time and the right place and so on.
But alas, we are all human and imperfect, yet we all strive to be good.
Some people throw it all to the wind and go against society, psychology calls them 'antisocial personality disorder' , religious folk call them pure evil or demon possessed. But even with those who have criminal personalities, they vary in extremes. There could be someone who is just a heavy drug user, manipulater, liar and thief, and on the other extreme, someone who rapes, tortures animals, murders children, takes delight in seeing animals/people suffering, etc.--pure evil.

Personally, I think if I were in the same room with someone like this or spoke with them, I would instantaniously get an evil/bad vibe and my gut would tell me to get out of there as fast as possible, and maybe you have that ability too. But most people don't have that ability and if they do, they don't listen to it, these people unfortunately become the victims.
So yes, there is good and evil, the ability to do bad and good.
I am agnostic and I fear people who say there is no right and wrong-- We all should for our own safety!!!

I know I have gone on very long but I just wanted to say how interesting everyone's responses are to this question.

and since everyone is sharing their evil spirits stories I just wanted to share mine, and this is no joke. I have felt evil, weak and strong all my life, but in particular I felt it surrounding a Christian family. They weren't a bad family, no abuse or anything, but there was an extremely evil or weird presence in her home. Maybe they were just very "in touch" with the spirit world and I was just sensitive to that energy. I guess it depends on how sensitive we all are.

When i was young i got a job in a town about 30 mins. from where i live and when i went into that town for the first time(for my interview) i just felt the worse sick feeling. The whole time i was there the feeling was there. I took the job and worked there for 4 yrs, but ever time i entered that town i just got this bad feeling. There are alot of murders and bad things going on there too. I never go there now at all. I don't know if a whole town can have an "evil presence" , but i know what i felt every time i went there.

I was in a store once a tiny little bookstore and I had a bad feeling. Didn't see anyone that looked weird or anything like that but I felt that I was to get out of there right away. I was on the second day of a 3 day fast and really prayed up and felt very tuned in to God at the time. I was also only 19 and all alone in one of the biggest cities in the US for a weekend.

Yes. Yes. Yes.

I take authority over it. Not very often do I feel it strongly. When I do, I pray to Jesus. If I have a nightmare, I cry out to Jesus. Why do I do this? Because, He always delivers me.

An evil will come around either because I disobeyed God somehow, or someone cursed me. Whatever convinces the evil source it can.

So, first I submit to God. Okay God. Jesus. I submit unto you. Did I do something wrong? Sometimes I did do something wrong & I confess it & He is just to forgive me my sin & cleanse me from it & make me right. That might take some time though. And I have to yell at the bad spirit a few times.
If, it is a curse, I just say. Be returned dipped in God's Love. Pray to God. It's gone. Jesus said to bless those that curse you, so I am submitting to God when I say that.
If I sense an evil spirit & I haven't opened any doors, I just pray to God, "I submit to you o God. I resist you Satan & you have to flee!" Submitting to God is praying to God giving God attention & praying His promises / Words.

The quickest way to overcome evil is to submit to God. It scares Satan. Submitting to God is good. Overcome evil with doing good.

I had a rude awakening with evil when I decided to pray after 10 years of forgetting about God. God's light shined, & those evil feelings were revealed. I felt awful. I didn't know they were there. It felt like an evil blanket. I got stuck in a trance for nearly a year. Feelings were magnified. Also, all the idols in my life were fried. Then God gave me a church home & gave me deliverence from the evil in the breakdown.

Now, I take God given christian authority over spiritual wickednesses.

I have. I like to learn about different religions and beliefs and once I was watching this thing about voodoo and how they use it to heal. So the next segment was about the other side of voodoo curses for example. I was like "This will be interesting" The whole time thinking that it was all a bunch of nonsense. Before the people even started the ceremony I got this bad feeling like the devil was standing right in front of me in my living room. I have never felt anything like that before. With out a second thought I turned it off before it even began. It's so unexplainable. Other times I feel like there is some sort of dark force lurking around me, like they are intentionally trying to scare me and make there presence known. Then I remember that I am a child of God and he will keep me safe.

Yes! I have been in places that look perfectly normal but I could definitely feel a demonic presence. It makes you want to run away or hold your breath or just get a flamethrower and burn the place down. And on the other hand I have been in other places where I felt pure good (God's presence). At those times, life is perfect. several times I just laughed for no reason (weird).
I've noticed that not everyone has that sense. I think its a gift.

You probably mean other than my sister.
I have said this alot before but people can easily start heresies out of these things. If you really feel something is wrong it could be the location of where you live as some show that I watched said that a certain kind of magnetism or something can can disturb people by feeling a "presence" and your mind will do the rest.
But If this is a serious problem for you, you should seek out a non-charismatic preacher

I think I know what you're talking about, but I think perhaps I have a slightly different take on the situation. I have felt a "presence", and it seamed to me to be frustrated, angry, and well..... just kinda mean. I don't think this presence was nessessarily "evil", just not where they wanted to be, and not happy about it. I've no doubt that their is a God, and I've no doubt that their is exisitance after death, but I don't know if I believe in 100% evil on Earth. I will say you are far from crazy. Keep your eyes, ears, and mind open. Our world is vastly larger then commonly believed.

Yes. In a house I used to live in. I couldn't be alone after dark there. Some people would (and did) call it a ghost. I called it evil because of the way it made me felt. I don't believe in "ghosts" being dead people, but I do believe that "ghosts" are demons/evil spirits that want us to think they're our dead loved ones so they can suck us in. I believe that if enough evil has happened in a place the evil can hang around and be a plague to all who go to that place. That's been my experience anyway. I ran away from it as fast as I could.

I don't know whether to classify it as pure evil, or just fear, but once, when I was in a state of sleep, my mind became conscious.

This is said not to be able to happen. During REM sleep, the body is essentially paralyzed, and I became conscious during this. In my opinion, there is nothing more fearful than not being able to move your body. Naturally my mind wandered, and I began to think that something was holding me still. You can't even make a sound either. So I was thinking that I was being held by "something" and it was pretty scary.

My body woke up after a minute.

cant say that i have felt pure evil sweetheart ... and as you know I'm a medium and have been open to many things
i am very sensitive person and can feel peoples characters pretty well .. and yes there are some very strange ones out there ...but i believe more in evil actions than evil people if you understand me .. so many when i am sensing them i am sensing their spirit more than their actions they have done
as i truly believe that underneath all that we have done we are beautiful spirit .. even those who have committed the worst actions
maybe that's just me and i see good everywhere .. must take off these rose coloured glasses lol
