Depneds on the individual temperment. If you can hide her favorite toy and she spends HOURS looking for it then she has what it takes.

Here is an interesting link that discusses the qualities that make a good search and rescue dog. It's a lot more about personality and intelligence than it is about a specific breed. Having a good sense of smell is important, and malta-poos have kind of stubby noses, which may make them weaker in this department than some other breeds of dog. But the most important factor is trainability and the dog's motivation to be a working dog.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://bitly.im/aMPkH

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Depends on the size and character of the dog. In general retrievers and shepherds make the best SAR dogs.

convinced....I surely have 2 German Shorthaired rules, who will both roll in fox poo in the adventure that they get the probability. ts only a fragrance difficulty, and a tremendous number of ogs will do it...........and whats better....the scent is only sooooo undesirable. dDaft because it may sound, the perfect difficulty to neutralise the scent is tomato juice!! only rub it properly into the canine fiur the position they have rolled contained in the poo, then rinse off and shampoo as accepted. This incredibly does get rid of the scent!!

does she have a strong work drive? a good nose (is she always smelling)? you can kind of try it out by hiding and see if she finds you. make it easy first and progressively make it harder. you can also take objects (such as her toys) and try to hide them and see if she finds them. most dogs have the potential to do all kinds of work, but their owners don't recognize or have the time to deal with it.
