Put your hand out and say "No!" It will probably take a while to work but eventually it does. I have a yellow lab that was very jumpy at first. We took him to dog school and that is what the instructor said to do. Do it now while the dog is small because when he gets bigger jumping becomes a big problem especially if you have children at home or in the neighborhood.

I read that when you come and go not to make a big deal of it just leave without saying anything and when you get home do not speak to or pet the dog for at least 5 mins. If he jumps just ignore him or push him down if you have to. It will take time but he should get it.

What I have done with my dogs (and my sisters) is tell them to sit, FIRMLY, when they jump at me. I do not pet them or acknowledge them in any other way until they do sit. Some days it would take repeating it several times.
Now when I come home or go to my sisters all of our dogs instantly sit when I walk in. Of course, I pet them and sweet talk them as a reward when they do.

When your pup jumps on you, say ouch or something real loud, then ignore him or her for a little while. When he/she calms down pet him/her. Another good way is to make your puppy sit before you will pet him or her, it makes it much easier for guests especially when he/she gets older and bigger
