It shouldn't affect his actual height. Early neuter does tend to make a dog 'weedier'. Less bone and body, kind of leggy.

As a male, he was neutered, not spayed. Usually the opposite is true, they get bigger after a neuter, unless he was done at a very early age? Some vets will neuter at 2 months now. He was probably just the runt of the litter.

Not necessarily. Just as with humans, each dog is an individual and may not fit into what is considered the norm for its particular breed. For example, my Siberian Husky, pure bred, is 2 1/2 inches taller than the standard, yet barely makes the bottom cut weight wise. He was neutered at just under 4 years old. Our Lab is about an inch taller than the height of standard and he weighs about 100 pounds, much larger than standard. He was neutered as a pup, around 5-6 months. I know for a fact that the lab didn't have as high quality a diet as the husky. It just depends on the dog, most of the time.

Actually neutering a male before puberty tends to make them a fraction of an inch TALLER. They don't grow faster just a tiny bit longer. Spaying female doesn't seem to have the same effect.

MALE: NEUTER
FEMALE: SPAY
No it does not stunt the growth of either.
But I'm so happy to hear someone considering spay/neuter.

Not at all! "Linear growth" does not depend too much on sex hormones.
