I have tried LSD, Mushrooms and Peyote several times and many of my experiences could be classified as spiritual in nature.

Being part Native American, I got involved with these substances after learning about my families heritage and ancient religious practices. I admit I have also used these substances in a recreational fashion.

I am curious to hear from others who have experienced the same thing and if the experiences have strengthened or weakened your spiritual beliefs..particularly Christian folk.

My experiences brought me to the conclusion that western religions are a complete fabrication by man and has no basis in reality. I have however gained a respect for the way our brains work. Everyone should obliterate reality at least one time in their life.

I agree with you about Western religions, but I definitely had an awareness of sort of a circle of energy and all people being connected through it somehow

Years ago me and my 2 best friends dropped 10 hits of triple dipped each. We didn't come down for 3 days. Well, two of us didn't. Sadly I lost a friend that night because he snapped and never came down. He has been in a mental hospital ever since. We did try to communicate with a higher being while we were all there though. At the time it seemed we got a response but we could never grasp the revelation. It seemed to be too much for human consciousness to handle. We were also able to speak to each other telepathically. I've tried explaining it to many people since then and everyone writes it off as just the effects of the drug and it didn't really happen. But we know it did, we were there. These drugs can be used to attain a spiritual awareness but they can also be dangerous. It's been over 10 years since I last dropped. Be careful you don't snap too.

Hallucinagenics simulate and create insanity and delusion.
They also have specific residues that remain in body fat and can be released into the blood stream again during moments of increased physical or mental stress.
This causes "flashbacks". These can occurr years after the drug was taken.
So I wouldn't be too certain about any conclusions generated in this way, spiritual or otherwise.
Drugs can create certain kinds of "release states" where spiritual perception is apparently enhanced but it is artificially induced and therefore can't be sustained.
The long term effects actually reduce ones perceptions, both mental and spiritual and cause physical deterioration as well.

I suffer from seizures and I take medicine for it, I had a bad episode in one of my seizures and it when way beyond my comprehension but I try to understand it. It was very spiritual and now I believe in god more than ever, is it just in our mind or is it real? one thing I know, for me was very real. I have always been able to have visions many that have come true. but this day I was shown allot more the I bargain for, I found my self reading verses in the bible, and I can tell you this, I did not pick them, they where shown to me it was intense. I felt the real speed of the earth and time did not exist. I felt abandon by god that was horrible but then I felt his love and it's the best experience I ever felt and I have never been the same. I hope this answer your question. Peace

I agree with your last paragraph completely.

I have tripped a few times (recreationaly as well), but I was not in a mindset for a spiritual experience.

It did however help illuminate the intricaces and delicate balance of the brain and mind.

All of my experiences, at the time, I never viewed as spiritual, just psychological. But looking back on it now, it's all the same. Wish I could find some good 'cid. It's been about 8 years!

I'd like to hear more about your mushroom trip. PM me if you like.

Personally, never did anything more than pot. It changed my perception in a weird and sort of scary way, but I never hallucinated anything.

I already do. Ephesians 6:10-12 New King James version (NKJV) the finished Armor of God 10 finally, my brethren, be sturdy in the Lord and in the flexibility of His could. 11 positioned on the finished armor of God, which you would be waiting to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we don't wrestle against flesh and blood, yet against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against religious hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

I agree with your stance on western religions...all religions really. Didn't take tripping to get me there though. When I trip, I trip. That's it.
