Each of us will one day wake up in our bed, and not go back to sleep in it.
Why? Because we'll have died that day.
If you don't believe me, ask anyone born before 1890. Oh wait, you can't, because they're DEAD!
I'm not putting down those who believe in the Rapture, but aren't you more afraid of the day your heart will stop beating, and you'll lose feeling in your body, from your feet, and slowly right on up to your eyes? Just like Socrates (and others) described?
That's enough of a rapture in my book. . .who really cares about the rest of the world. . .what did they ever do for ANY of us?
Does anyone else believe that even if the rapture is a fact, death is a far, far more relevant fact for each of us to prepare for?
If you disagree, tell me this: If I die tonight, what will a Rapture next month do for me?
Thanks in advance!
I wasn't hostile to you, show me the same courtesy.

I agree asbolutely.. I even said something similar on the recent "Rapture" thread. I dont worry about the Last Days because today MIGHT be MY last day and today is the day I need to concern myself with.

I'm not concerned with a rapture, because I don't believe in the so-called rapture. The Bible never says we'll be called up before the Tribulation or the Great Tribulation. It's a man-made concept. I do worry about preparing for the Tribulation. As soon as I see more things happening in Israel I'm buying all the shelf-stable food I can find, preparing a hidden shelter, and preparing to spend about 3 years underground so to speak. My chances of dying before then are slim.......I don't commute to work, I wear my seatbelt when I'm in the car (only once a week or so), and I do everything else I do as safely as I can. I could of course be taken at any time, but the chances of my being here to survive a tribulation like that are pretty good. So I'm preparing.

Why bother of the idea of dying when living is more important?
We should all not be afraid to die because it is as normal as night and day, it will come no matter how we take it...
What we intennd to do is prepare for our lives after death... how our souls will go after our time here was over.
Rapture and Death are both concerns we should consider as a christian---who believes in God and that there is heaven and hell.
Rapture will come like a thief in the night, the question is are we ready? So as death, we all don't know when it will come to us.
If you die tonight the rapture next month will tell you if your love ones made it to heaven like you do or not... you don't have to wait for a couple of months or years more to find out if you will be spending eternal life to heaven with the one you love or not. That is the importance of believing in rapture for me.

The Rapture so called not in the Bible. But in the twinkling of an eye at the last trump ( or Blast of air or Breath) Your spirit and soul are eternally alive with a New Spirit Body like Jesus has, that will be your only Rapture. If by chance there is a calling up of many in the last day, there will also be a lot of useless dead bodies left behind.flesh and blood do not go to Heaven.

The word "rapture" comes from the Latin verb rapere which means "to carry off, abduct, seize or take forcefully" (compare rape). It was used in the Latin Vulgate (about 405 A.D.) translation of 1 Thessalonians 4:17, which is the primary biblical reference to the event in question, rapiemur "we shall be caught up" translating the original Greek harpagēsometha (ἁρπαγησόμεθα) (passive mood, future tense of harpazō (ἁρπάζω)). The word "rapture" does not occur in the inspired Scriptures.
Who are the ones that will be "caught up in the clouds" as stated at 1Thessalonians 4:17?___ Verse 15 explains that they are faithful ones "who are left until the coming of the Lord," that is, they are still living at the time of Christ's coming. Will they ever die? According to Romans 6:3-5 and 1 Corinthians 15:35,36,44 they must die before they can gain heavenly life. But there is no need for them to remain in the death state awaiting Christ's return. They will instantly be "caught up" in the "twinkling of an eye" to be with the Lord. Jesus said that only a "little flock" are awarded heavenly life. But he also said that a "great crowd" of faithful ones who were not of that fold, would remain on earth. Those who gain heavenly life will rule as "kings and priests" with Jesus in his Father's Kingdom and they will rule over the earth and it's inhabitants.

I'm not quite following your question -- but I recommend that you read The Rapture Exposed by Rossing. The rapture isn't a Biblically sound idea -- mostly just a fabrication of the paranoid right.

Only non believers should fear the rapture. Even for believers death should not be fearful as they know they have heaven. Leaving behind loved ones and the fear of the unknown as to how great heaven will be porbably.

well if you died today then the rapture will not affect you.....the rapture shouldn't turn your life into something like "3 moons of midford" or anything you should just prepare your soul........that is all......oh and if you are a christian then you will go to heaven when you die.....but if you are not then you will go to hell.....and the rapture will make no difference in your life.....or lack there of

"stay outdoors ideally on a hilltop that way you received't bump into the ceiling or homes once you commence to upward push into the air." How does this artwork when you're on the bottom of the Earth? Will all of them go shooting off in random guidelines, or be pulled immediately by the Earth? they ought to offer all of their food and water away to those who will be left in the back of.
