Because people who are closest to you know you inside out. They know the right places of your heart to jab at you. I don't think they intentionally seek the most vulnerable place of your heart to jab at you....it's just a moment of heated impulse. Forgive and forget. These people will also be the ones you'd have to turn to in times of sorrow. That's life.

It's usually because your the "safe" person. Their anger or hostility is not towards you but towards someone else that they are probably too intimidated to confront...so they take it out on you. It's not fair but they do it.

I think "urban " just said it best,,,,,because they need to vent,,,let it out,,,,they know you will not last out back at them,,,,You will love them uncontitionally,,,,yes,,,its hurtfull,,,,like the saying says " you always hurt the ones you love."

Becasue they know your weaknesses and shame so they use these things to manipulate our behavior.

maybe they feel insecure about themselves and have to make you feel bad for them to feel good even if they won't admit it.
