This should be moved into the mathematics section.
These kind of "choose a random number" type quizzes use mathematical functions and predictability of the behaviour of numbers to accurately guess the correct number.
Note the same symbol is at 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81.
Your answer after doing the sum will end up at one of those - which will suprisingly match the one shown as the "mind reading"!

Actually my friend did that trick to me dozens of times and I figured it out. I'll do it now: Think of a number 1 through 5 it can't be 1 and it can't be 5. add 5. subtract 2. add 4. subtract the number you started with. your answer is 7. SPOOKY, HUH??

actually the ppl saying it didnt work, they r lieing or they r doing something wrong. no matter what number u pick, the final number will b a multiple of 9 and all the multiples of 9 r the same sign

Interesting, yet predictable... it's all fixed anyway, none of the numbers will ever have the same symbol each time you do it? What's with that? Nothing, it's just not as cool as we'd like it to be.

its cool 4 kids but i did two different numbers at the same time and realized that the symbols have a pattern. just probability. it was cute though.
