I'm sorry for the rudeness that you endured by being called a wacko.
GOOD FOR YOU, THINKING OF NEUTERING YOUR DOG!!!
Obviously your just a child, who DOESN'T KNOW it's as simple as that.
"Lord I hope we never have to deal with the Vet, whom that ying yang works for" I bet that Vet wouldn't like their attitude here either.
In any case... It does cost to have your dog neutered, although there are programs the Humane Society puts on that helps people to get spay/neuter as well as vaccines done at a lower cost.
But what ever you do, don't go to that Vet's office that that Tech works at. For Pete's sake they act like THEY are the ones losing some money IF THEY CARED ENOUGH TO HELP, "not the dang Vet".
Some people have no concern for others, some people just like to be rude ALL THE TIME, and don't care if it's to a child or not.
Shoot I can be rude too, but at least you asked a descent question, and you didn't know any better since kids do not normally deal with Vet's or the rude people that work at their offices some times.

If he has already learned bad habits like roaming the neighborhood or marking territory they will be hard to break right away, but the urge to roam should lessen. If he doesn't do these things he is much less likely to start it may help aggression problems as well but not the same as if he had been done as a puppy. Still, it would be a very good idea to have him done as soon as you can afford it. Many vets are scheduling ahead so check around for prices set an appointment and save up. You could also ask about a payment plan because if he isn't up to date on shots it could be up to $140 depending on his size. $2 a day for one month is about $60 that's half your fee.

Yes, neutering your job at any age is fine and will be the same as if he'd been neutered as a puppy.
Neutering is surgery, so yes, it does cost money. However there are many low-cost spay and neuter clinics around the country that you can find through your local animal welfare agency (best place to start is your local animal control). If you can find a low-cost clinic, it will probably be $45-$50. If you go to a regular vet, it will be more like $75-$150 depending on the size of the dog (larger the dog larger the price).

Neutering your dog will help him no matter what age he is. There is a fee, as with any other vet service. Also, if you've never taken your dog to the vet, you will have to get vaccines up to date, like the rabies shot, bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine, distemper vaccine (covers about 8 diseases, including parvo) and possibly even a fecal (where they take a fecal sample to check for intestinal parasites). You will have to call around to some clinics for prices and requirements. The price of the surgery will depend on the weight of your dog as well.

I received my 2 ladies neutered, and they're nonetheless satisfactory. As they develop historical, they'll get joint, hip, and so on. disorders anyhow, so I do not believe that is a fear. Neutering could make his coat rather less glossy, and in addition he will be downcast and ill for a couple of weeks, however that every one passes. It does not have an effect on his temperament, so I believe the essential fear is him loss of life within the operation. A lot of my associates had that occur-it used to be quite unhappy since I knew the entire puppies. But, it is nonetheless infrequent, so I say get him neutered. It will prevent a ton of problem since men run off to fulfill ladies frequently-and that is a reality.

you have to pay a fee, the vet won't work for free and they can't use an OR for free either!!
unless you got your dog from animal welfare league, they will do it for free there, but you have to have gotten your dog there.
No it will not have the same effect as it would on a puppy, however it will make him sterile so he can't have puppies which is the main effect you want to get from neutering.

Neutering is not free.....call around for costs but bring the dog to a good vet...ask friends in your area for a good vet recc.....Has your dog even been to a vet for shots in it's 2 years???? Make sure those are up to date.......Neutering is good to control the pet population...my neighbor's dog got loose and visited a female prue bred in a 6 ft high run area who was in heat and did his deed....the neighbor/ owner had a suit on her hands from this wandering male pet....
