being barberous, chump? wow very intellectual. you have to remember that this is a war for more oil and money, it never was about freedom, just a grudge.

by the way, let me clarify a little misunderstanding, i meant bomb the insurgents that are responsible, online sources indicate that the us has many of these locations where these bad folks are, but are hesitating as to what to do, and anyone that does a little investigating will know, that insurgents employ women and children as well to take part in suicide bombings and other things......some of you are providing what appear to be as angry answers, but damn man, why send our brothers and sisters to prison for lengths of years at a time for snapping a pic or some other trivial stuff that doesnt compare to the atrocities commited over there........

it seems to be a good double standard. we're held to the highest standards, to be forced to fight a morally appropriate war (whatever the hell that is). meanwhile others use any means possible to inflict the largest damage, caring not a bit about its brutality (internet beheadings you mention are a perfect example). it's time we stop coddling these idiots and treat them like the criminals they are. that we protect the rights of people trying to kill us to an extreme vs the people trying to protect us is just plain back-asswards.

Good question. American soldiers are seen around the globe and are our "ambassadors". What they do in other countries is what is percieved as what we do here in America, good or bad.
The military has very high standards set in place and especially now in this age of information where eyes are everywhere, they must be followed.
Given, we Americans would never stoop as low as public beheadings, but realize that these rules/standards are in place to protect EVERYONE'S human rights and dignity.
I think that they are being punished for not living up to YOUR standards and I hope you see it that way as well. You are paying their paychecks every month.

While I agree that the many are being ostracized for the actions of a few, I disagree with "bombing the sh!t" out of ANYONE. Most of the insurgents are NOT Iraqi. They come in from other countries. Most of the Iraqis are grateful that we're there. Twelve million of them turned out to vote, remember?

I have to agree with you on all of it but under the prisoner of war agreements, we have to treat them with dignity and respect which I believe is unfortunate. With everything that those prisons did to their countrymen, what they are getting back isn't half as bad. I honestly feel sorrow for the soldiers that are being put on trial.

I agree it not like they humiliated our people and country by what they have done to our people, Beheadings have been around for centurys but in recent centurys they thought is was cruel, and went to other means of punishment. Maybe out crime would go down if we went back to that.

The few Iraqis who did want American soldiers in their country are not the ones who are doing the horrible things you describe.
If people don't want "freedom," you don't go die for them to have it, nor do you nuke them. You stay away from them.

That our enemies may be guilty of savagery does not excuse such behavior in our own personnel. As Americans, we are expected to adhere to a higher standard, not to stoop to their level.

Yeah, liberals just hate America. You know, the next thing those **** liberals will say is "Raping a 14 year old and killing her whole family is a bad thing" or something. Those dumb liberals really tork me off.
