ouija boards. Don't **** around with them. You will pick up any stray spirit or scrap of energy that happens to be floating around at the time. They may tell you they are your dead mother, a demon from hell, Napoleon, any thing at all and you won't have a clue what they really are. They can be destructive and hard to get rid of once you have talked with them. It is a random, risky and totally inappropriate way to seek to communicate with discarnate entities (things without bodies).
A good rule of occultism is if you can't pronounce it, don't do it. Perhaps you need more study first.
Whether or not it's against Christianity is beside the point. It's foolish and risky, that's the point.

I have used a ouija boards before. Obviously if you want a board that will work well i would suggest crystals as an additional form of energy. I would also not bother trying to use the parker brothers board. That is most probably why most people say they are bunk cause the quality of the board was poor. Some boards are rumoured to have actual ashes of people incorporated in the manufacture of them. Of course this is possible but not with one you buy off the shelf at wal mart. My suggestion to you is not to confide too much in what information you get and dont spend elongated periods of time on them. This "spirits" feed on the electrical energy you and your accomplices emit. It is not uncommon to feel rather lethargic after using one. If you are using a board for the first time i would recommend using it with someone familiar with using. If you are hoping, however, to summon a demon or spirit to come and take care of your husband or wife or whoever please know this is not going to happen. As for the question whether or not using one is against Christianity i would have to say no. The only way something can become good or evil is solely determined by the one manipulating it. So you see a ouija board is simply a ouija board and what you choose to use it for will manifest whether or not the task at hand is good or evil. Good Luck Remain cautious

I wouldn't say that they're against any religion. They just tend to spook people a great deal. It's back to that antiquated belief that if it's dead, it's evil.

I've used the Ouija many times and I've had the crap scared out me each time.

Was it real? You know, I really cannot answer that question. There are two times that stand out that really, make me wonder (to this day!) and it's been 12 years since I've touched one.

I dislike them enough to forbid them in my home. I will tell you that much.

If the spirits are real, you may wish to consider the possibility that while they are not "evil" in nature (and I don't know if they are or not) at the very least, they are most likely lost. They may be insane or simply never been human at all. The ones I came into contact with could be funny and a couple were down right cruel.

Don't use it alone. Always use it at someone else's house. And, always remember to say goodbye when you are finished. It is supposed to close the doorway between that world and ours.

I've played with them a number of times.

Each time, the pointer would move around, sometimes quite quickly, but it really was telling us what we wanted it to tell us.

If we wanted to have "yes" for an answer, of course we would say that we were not pushing it, and I still believe we were not. But the mind is a powerful thing.

It is like when people try to tell the sex of an unborn baby by dangling a ring with a string through it. If you think "girl", you can make it go in the direction that is assumed for the birth of a girl. If you think "boy", it will change directions.

Same with the ouija board, you are actually willing it to move around.

But for anybody who is a bit spooky, or who is afraid of the dark, or believes in ghosts and goblins, don't bother with it because you will get spooked. And that is only because you are nervous to begin with, and then you will worry that a ghost is present.

I used to be able to use it with just myself and nobody else. But I knew what my subconscious was thinking. I knew what answer I wanted to get and that is what I got. I am not a person who is easily scared by the dark or noises, and I will always search for a logical explanation before I just give up and say that there is a ghost present.

But for those who have a tendency to believe in spirits, I can see how this could scare the daylights out of you. I did it one time with a friend who goes to seances and she had to have every light on in the house when we used the ouija board. She kept looking into the next room, almost expecting that the door would open on its own.

So ... if in doubt, don't do it.

Ouija boards are just boards with letters .. even sold as kids games
they do not hold any power and no demons working through them
what they can do is manifest fear from those using them and this is where the danger lies .. because our own energy can be dangerous
it has been known that our own energy can lift things , throw things , and can appear to be what seems like some nasty spirit
so best advice is don't play with it
as for communicating with spirit ... this is something different :o)
people who communicate with spirit are called mediums .. these people train to develop their mediumistic potential ( which is open to anyone with a serious interest and willingness to learn )
spirit don't pop up in front of us as many believe they do .. the communicate with us through a mind to mind link... as the medium raises their level of awareness .. the spirit would lower ... so both are working together to make this link happen
and despite what many people think .. they are not demons or Satan working to deceive us .. they are just beautiful spirit wishing to pass messages of hope and comfort to their loved ones

Ouiji is simply two different words that mean "yes". French Oui, is yes, and Japaneese Ji. As for being against christianity...hmmm, very interesting. I would say its not against it. More that the calling of spirits is not something we are not supposed to do. The only calling of a spirit was done by a witch in the old testament. Unfortunately, she realized when her called spirit turned out to be a man of God, that she had done something terribly wrong.
It would be wrong to say that spirits never communicate, but equally wrong to suggest that they do. There is no evidence either way. In the biblical account God allowed the spirit to come forth, not the power of the witch. Can Satan help this happen? Who knows? It doesn't really say? The fact that you might need his help to accomplish this would seem to say that it was wrong. What would you want to know from a spirit anyway? Their life is over, and there is nothing except mythology to suggest that they know of anything beyond the realm they are in, except in scripture, and most anything you see there is being allowed by God for a specific purpose...not just the whim of individuals.

Personally, I think that Ouija boards really can work, but that they are more about answering a question than trying to communicate with spirits. Either way, they are a lot of fun with friends!

Oiga boards should be used with great caution. Yes, Christians are against anything that smells of magic. I have experienced communicating with dead relatives and spirits in this way even though some may say it is hog wash. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
During those times evil spirits have tried to impose themselves on me as well. Caution should be taken when using the board. I deal with the occult on a daily basis and am trained in many associated areas. One should always put a vail of protection around yourself before venturing into the lives of spirits because the same door that is opened for the positive spirits is a gateway for what you call demons as well. The best way to relate to you who these dead spirits are is to compare them what you probably call angels. The normal properties that we have in our level of existence is much different than theirs. It is very difficult for them to communicate with us and be understood. The board is just a means for us to communicate with them. We are not able to communicate for long periods of time because their energy is sapped when they use this avenue of communication. Likewise they are capable of materializing themselves on our level but not for very long as that zaps their energy as well. That is why when you read about sightings of the Virgin Mary she just doesnt houver there endlessly. Well thats probably more than you wanted to know, so take it for what its worth to you.

I believe in spirits and the sixth sensory psychic world. I have read the works of several wonderful, spiritual psychics and intuitives and I have never heard any of them say anything good about Ouija boards. They all warn to steer clear of them. Hey, if it's that's the recommendation from those who communicate with the spiritual world and have that extra level of knowledge I'll think I'll take their advice on this one.
