If you have a sallys beauty supply they have a curling iron that is cermic. and has heat settings, it is wonderful, and they can help you with your purchase as well. really depends what type of curl your looking for. example tight, or loose. I have thick curly hair as well, and I use a 1.5 inch. and it works great

Conair 2-in-1 ceramic flat iron/curling iron. It comes in a variety of sizes and you get it with the wet/dry option if you want.
For me it's important that the plates be ceramic, and not just metal. I have thick hair also, but it's pretty brittle. The ceramic plates get the job done without breaking my hair off. That's why I like the one I have (Well, that plus it's got a "Turbo" function. Anything with the word "turbo" in it automatically gets an extra 50 points...)

Ask your mom to take you for a hair decrease to skinny it out. counting on how long your hair is, you will get layers, so the hair isn't all one length and cumbersome. in case you like to twist it, you may circulate on your community pharmacy and get curlers. in case you seek on YouTube, "Michelle Phan Paper Bag Curls academic", you will discover an academic by using a makeup guru that teaches you the thank you to twist your hair with a paper bag.

You want a ceramic one with a bunch of heat settings. Look at CHI.
