Information on China is a little old, but...

In 1987 PLA (Peoples Liberation Army) strength was about 3 million. Ground forces numbered about 2.1 million--the world's largest standing army; the Navy about 350,000--including those assigned to Naval Aviation, Coastal Defense Forces, and Marine Corps; the Air Force about 390,000; and the Strategic Missile Force about 100,000. The PLA was supported by an estimated 4.3 million basic (armed and trained) militia and 6 million ordinary (poorly armed and trained) militia. According to the 1984 Military Service Law, the militia, which was being combined with a newly developed reserve system, and the People's Armed Police Force also formed part of the Chinese armed forces. In 1986 reserve forces were included officially in the organizational system.

The Americans have about a million in the army, reserves, and national guard not including Air Force and Navy.

The Chinese have about 2 million in there army. But you have to remember China is a big country and they don't have many advanced weapons yet.

I read just this mornign that China has an army of over 2.5 million fighting men and women. America doesnt have that many, but i couldnt say for sure

The American Army stands about 5'8" to 6'3", whereas the Chinbese army stands about 5'0" to 5'9". Oh, you mean their size in strength. I have no idea, but do feel that our weaponry is far superior..

I think the american is like 300,000 and the chinese is over a million like korea. We have better weapons though. Thats why no other country will attack us. We fought china during vietnam. They helped South Vietnam.

The US could muster out a million, tops, both active and reserve duty.

China can muster 5 million easily, without tapping all the reserves.

But all the tents are made in China. And all the boots, socks, undershirts, water bottles, jackets, etc. . . . .

Same I think. Mabye China has more since USA has been doing a lot of "peace keeping" and "government building" (Iraq) and "government destroying" (lebanon)
