Honestly, I'd like to know how a straight person could know what it's like to be gay? Was there a point in everyone's life where the straight bus stopped and we all just forgot to get on? With all the research out there pointing towards genes and biological factors, the only arguement they can come up with is it's a sin. Well ya know what, not everyone believes in god or the bible, so why do they feel the need to cram it in our face?
The bible also tells them not to judge and to love thy fellow man. Apparently they missed that part because they were so focused on the part that talked about homosexuals. And as far as I knew, the bible only speaks of homosexuality as being wrong in the pretense of sexual misconduct, not being wrong between two loving consenting adults.
So I ask, how do the bible thumpers have more expertise on gayness then gay people do? Unless they're just deeply closeted?

Such mature responses, I'm impressed (not) Some of you see my point. I'm not trying to flame on all straight people, just the ones that try to cram your religion in my face. Your bible says not to judge, but you feel you have the right to judge someone who is gay. Why can't you leave that up to your god? I'll take my chances any day knowing that I'm living my life happy instead of living a lie.

And notice I said SOME people, I'm not saying every Christian is a bigot, just asking why some feel the need to force it onto other people.

Ok, well since god hates queers then is it fair to assume he hates bigots, druggies, single parents, people who have sex out of marriage...the list goes on and on people. Convenient that god hates people when it fits your agenda

Once more, your rambling questions make no sense whatsoever. There is no 'gay bus' that you get on or off, and there is very little research indicating any biological factor affecting a person's sexual orientation. There has been no "gay gene" found, and most experts in the field, regardless of orientation point to a choice rather than a compelling factor.
You know even less about the bible obviously, because the bible doesn't say "don't judge" but tells Christians to judge a righteous judgment based on the words that Jesus left with us. We are promised if we judge righteously we will be judged the same way. If you feel a Christian worrying about you enough to warn you of sinful behavior is somehow wrong, then you are missing something, but you surely have the right to reject their concern. And I would love if you would give me the chapter and verse of the book that says homosexuality between two consenting adults is not a sin. As far as your contention that I can't know what it's like being homosexual since I'm not, I would answer I'm also not a drug addict, but I can know about that also.
Repent, or perish. That's the only choice.

Well there Mr. JR, that's a mighty long , thoughtful, and kinda funny question you're putting out there. I like your reference to the straight bus. Keeping this topic in a humorous context is a very good idea. The bible thumpers never fail to keep me in stitches. Sometimes it's better than watching COMEDY CENTRAL.
I do know one thing for sure, though. I'm no expert on gayness. I happen to be straight. However I must add that all this hyperventilating over labels(gay, straight, bi) is for the birds. What a royal waste of time. Let's just all make love, and just maybe there won't be any more wars. It's sure worth a try.

I would not say that you are bad or going to hell for being gay. I believe in not judging who will or will not go to heaven. I don't know s*** about being gay because I am not gay. I have no idea if being gay is a choice or a genetic or biological factor. I know that I don't understand. But you probably don't understand why I am straight. So I think we are both on the same wave length here. And I am somewhat of a "bible thumper" as you say. ARE WE COOL DUDE????

It's really sad when even worldly people know that being queer is wrong.
Queers need to stop cramming queerdom's in the faces of our children and the world. All queers on or off the bus is going to hell. What does it mean when you have loving consenting adult queers. It means they are going to hell together. And they won't be alone the rest of the family will be there also.
As for judging people, I don't have to be a judge to know right from wrong. God said he hated queers, he said it is wrong. And I read no where in Bible that God changed his mind on the subject. Sorry, queers are still hell bound!

I'm not deeply closeted at all. I can't even imagine feeling sexual attraction for a woman.......that just doesn't do it for me.
I don't judge homosexuals any more than I do other sinners. I'm a pretty bad sinner myself, as is every single person that has ever lived except for Jesus Christ. I will say that what they do is wrong. Lying is wrong. Stealing is wrong. Looking at a man or woman and admiring their body is wrong. Having sexual relations with someone you aren't married to is wrong. We ALL do wrong things. The only thing that makes gays different is that most people don't WANT to do wrong things. Christians don't anyway. We still do them, but we feel guilty for doing them and try to stop doing them. Gays see nothing wrong with what they do, and they actually shove their sin in our faces with all their parades and special events. Do murders do that? Do thieves do that? Do liars do that? No, because in some way they're ashamed of their sins.
And the Bible DOES say homosexuality is wrong.....
Lev 18:22 "'You shall not lie with a man, as with a woman. That is detestible.
No I'm not an expert, but God is.....and His word says it's wrong. That's all I need!

People are close minded, if its not something they agree with its wrong. They don't even need reasons.
It goes against tradition, it goes against religion, it isn't natural.
Haha, what hypocrits. We ALWAYS break tradition, thats how society has been evolving. We ALWAYS change religion, a good deal of the current religions today are reforms from a base religion (and thats not even mentioning seperation of church and state.) Haha and people complain about it being unnatural, we love being natural. That why we live in dirt houses, and eat our food that comes straight from the earth.
Then they'res the agruement it breaks family values, and upsets families.
Thats why we condem single mothers/fathers. Oh wait, no we don't.
My favorite, its against the bible. Haha, so is other religions. Wait, do you not allow other people to marry, if they're from a different religion? No, you accept the differences and still allow them to marry, even though thier religion is far different and goes against the bible. The only difference with homosexual people is that it isn't a religion. So you people feel like its just to persecute them fully.
Open your eyes, realize that because it goes against your opinion doesn't mean its wrong.

Personally, I think some of them are just deeply closeted, but some are just deeply prejudiced and looking for ways to support their prejudice. Did you know that the bible says that wearing blended fabrics is just as wrong in the most commonly quoted section used against gays and lesbians. Most people don't get it that that section was written for the Jewish people of that time. A lot of people like to pick and chose elements of the bible and take them literally, and completely ignore others just to suit their prejudice.

good points. but homosexuality is not only a sin in its sexual setting. But i do agree 100% that christians are going about the issue totally the wrong way. protesting gay marriage and coming on yahoo answers on a friday night to preach at gay people will in fact get you nowhere.

Remember the bible thumpers are the ones that are getting arrested daily for sexually assaulting children, mostly little boys and have been doing this for centuries. So I guess with hundreds of years of years of homosexual assaulting sex, I guess that they would be experts.
I gotta add... My wife and I are sinning since we got married out of the church. I believe along with all the kinds of people that you've mentioned that God hates, God hates people that don't give a bunch of "donations" to get married in one of his MANY, MANY houses.

Now you are joining them in bashing each other. You don't need to do that. I am Christian, and I have found that I can't judge you by my rules, anymore than you should judge me by your rules. If you look into it, you will find that Christians are told how homosexuals are going to take us all over. Lots of Christians are deep into conspiracies, and that is silly. One day they all think the government is going to stop us from going to church, the next, the gays are taking over everything. It's all just silly, and people need to love one another and be good neighbors, not paranoid crazy people.
The Bible says, you will know My disciples by their love one for another. I didn't see in there where it said you will know them because they abuse everyone who doesn't believe the way they do.
