The only way to know is to be thoroughly evaluated to see if you meet very specific criteria that has been set forth for this purpose. In any case, it sounds as if you know as well as I do that this is not normal for you, and that it is concerning. I would get a referral from your family doctor for a psychiatrist, and get a thorough evaluation. This is not to be taken lightly, and a proper diagnosis could take quite a bit of time. Please get help so you can get back to feeling in a more centered place.

It does sound much more like a significant episode of depression, but only a psychiatrist can accurately diagnose you with BPD. Even if you are out of a job right now, you should be able to contact a local Mental Health/Mental Retardation (MHMR) Center and make an appointment to get help at no cost.

Please don't waste any time doing that, either. The faster you are diagnosed and can begin treatment (therapy, medication, whatever the dr thinks is best for you), the fast you will be you again.

Don't worry; just take action! =) You're not alone in the line ... it's a looooooooooooooooong line!

You sound generally more depressed than bipolar than again it could be the beginning stages. Sudden mood changes like one minute your at a high (manic) just very happy and the next minute you are at a low like depression hints the other name for BPD Manic Depressive Disorder. Rambling speech is also another sign maybe even violent behavior. If you are really concerned see a doctor

No, Bi-polar disorder is ups and downs, you are all down, you are severely depressed ,go see a doctor and he/she can help you, maybe get on some antidepressants such as Wellbutrin, or something similar. I have been in this situation and I had no idea about depression, I though it was for weak people, but really, it is more the strong people that get it because they have more on their plate. Just go see a doctor, they can set you up with a counselor, you need to talk to someone about this problem, it is fixable, be patient.

This is a serious problem for you. See a professional. See a professional TODAY if you are 18 and a male.

It could be a funky mood. It could be one of several illnesses of varying seriousness -- an accurate medical diagnosis is critical --- so see a doctor and snap out honest answers to every question you are asked.

Please do this.

Bi Polar Disorder is characterized by periods of intense depression but also periods of mania where you feel almost like an intense natural high. It sounds like you might just be depressed or have depression.
