No, and I tell you why.....my dad was physically and verbally abusive and though he hasn't hit me since I was young I feel the fear when I am around him and he is 85yrs old and he is still verbally abusive and hot tempered.

Hon, your dad has some anger problems. I am sorry to hear your mother allowed your father to hit her and you see it and she allowed him to hit you and your sister and did nothing. It is wrong. I hope that you know that for when you are married that you do not allow your husband to do the same to you. Do you have grandparents or an aunt that you could go live with? You and your sister really need to be out of the home.
Good luck!

supply your self time to be offended and grieve with the eventual objective of accepting that your father is a fallible individual who made some selfish, hurtful judgements. those judgements do no longer erase all of the sturdy that he did on your life and the affair does not negate all of the constructive studies you have had with him. he's extra desirable than in simple terms the sum of those undesirable judgements and he loves you. you like him too and once you're in a position you should use that like to start rebuilding your relationship with him. As for different adult males, you have found out a helpful lesson approximately peoples' fallibility, yet you get to make your ideas up on whether this would shop you petrified of creating relationships with adult males or it's going to make you wiser on your dealings with them. have faith is extra often than not no longer earned, it fairly is given freely. pick to have the braveness to have faith.

Your dad needs to see a counselor, and you may need to see one too to help you because of his abuse you may find it hard to trust anyone.
