I've read recently that the new technology voting machines in Florida were made by people that make slot machines...there is a real possiblity of fraud through a program inside. there has to be some verification with any electronic type machine...who will watch the people making the machines and who will watch the watchers, a countable physical ballot is the only safe method. Be wary of those that protest too much, do they have something to hide.

This could very well be true because they would not want to get caught loading the ballets. It is the only way GWB got in office twice now.
Your vote don't matter anyway. It is totaled and then the main vote comes from the electoral votes. They do not have to vote the way the public did just vote in a way you can not tell they scammed you.

The government won't know who you voted for if the machine prints out a receipt for your vote. It is the same concept as ATMs; does the government know you got $20 based on whether you got a receipt or not?
Sometimes the silliness goes too far.

What you so called liberals cry about.....invasion of privacy...do you want the gov't to know who you voted for?
Personally I like the old paper ballots, but too many stupid people don't know how to vote.

If a paper record is produced, one's ballot is no longer secret...an invasion of privacy.

Never heard that, but since all the poll workers in my precinct are Democrats & friends of mine. I do not want them to know how I vote. They know I am Republican, but that is all they need to know. Paper trails have gotten me tons of junk mail over the years, I do not want political junk mail too!
